Do not go!! How on earth this flea-pit is rated as 3 star beggars belief!! Not only do you need a magnifying glass to spot the entrance, you then have to negotiate the very narrow stairs with luggage, no lifts. The room itself was basic but clean and very small but the bathroom is so tiny that you cannot stand up to brush your teeth due to the shelf placed over the sink. Pointless paying for breakfast as this meal is inedible and of very limited choice indeed. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even if on a tight budget.

What first attracted us to this hotel was the cheap, low, low price... that really should have tipped us off on the sheer state of disgust that this hotel was in. After getting off the tube to find the hotel, I spent a great deal of time just walking back and forth along Queensway trying to find it. In the end I gave up and jumped in a black cab, asking if they had any idea where this hotel was. He didn't but he drove me along Queensway and we eventually found it... the main entrance is about 4 foot wide and is just a door along the row of storefronts. I knew something was wrong immediately. I went to check in and was not so much greeted as grunted at by a very disagreeable clerk at the counter who gave me my key, dismissing me before she even told me where my room was. Once I got to my room I was more than disappointed. I was left with words that aren't all that appropriate for a general access review. I went into the 'bathroom' and was bombarded by the stench of a sewer. I opened the shower and the smell just got worse. In addition to that, creeping along the walls of the shower was a greenish black mold, which, I may assume just made everything smell that much worse. We got a total of two pillows that were as flat as pancakes. I ended up folding some clothes over and sticking them under the "pillow" just so I could avoid breaking my neck trying to sleep. As for the view from the window... well, I hadn't ever seen anything like it. It was a pile of mattresses, a few bikes, an old metal bed frame, and a few plants to perhaps spruce up the garbage piled up before us. Overall, avoid this hotel at all costs. You're probably better off just sleeping in a cardboard box.

Hi, I booked this "3*" hotel on Lastminute.com. Should have stayed there for 4 nights but I was not able to stay even 4 hours! This was the poorest, the dirtiest and most horrible "hotel" I could have thought about! Our hotel room was never cleaned as well as the floor and the bathroom. Room was really tiny but more importantly you could not breathe inside. We could not stay there even one night with our daughter. Absolutely horrible! This is a warning for everybody who even considers booking it! Please DON'T!!!

Hello everybody! Let me give you good advice. I stayed in this hotel for a week in July 2007 and it was the poorest, the most dirty hotel ever!!!!!Our hotel room was never cleaned, tons of dust, the floor never been cleaned including the shower. Rooms are really tiny, breakfast is always the same and you are meet by miserable waitress every day which doesn't even want to serve.Absolutely horrible! Above all that there was no hot water for 24 hours so they cleaned dishes in cold water!!!! This is warning for everybody which even consider to book it.

If you book the Royal Hotel Hyde Park thinking that it sounds rather grand, be prepared for a reality check. The entrance is one door wide, sandwiched between a restaurant and a pub on a busy, noisy, not unpleasant street in Bayswater. Unless you know the street number of the hotel and you carry out a very methodical search of the street, you will struggle to find it within any reasonable amount of time. It is true that it is close to Hyde Park, but there the similarity ends. The narrow entrance leads immediately up a steep staircase to a small reception area. In fact, everything about the property is small- the bedroom (a double but should really only be a single), the bed, the bathroom, the breakfast room. The wash basin in our room would not have been out of place in a dolls house! The hotel ( this is really a misnomer, it is effectively a bed-and-breakfast establishment) has apparently been refurbished. If so, I hate to think what it was like before. The new smoking ban will perhaps prevent any further cigarette burns on the small formica surface masquerading as a dressing table. Coffee and tea was available in the room, but no milk! In case you think our weekend was ruined, fortunately we hadn't been influenced by the name of the hotel and we were able to see the funny side of all the above. We spent the minimum amount of time on the premises, and were very lucky with everything else we did in town.

First of all the surrounding area of where the hotel is situated is not the best are to stay. I did not feel comfortable, as all you heard were police cars rushing everywhere. The hotel is small with no lifts. The windows are not secure and all you can hear in the night is the music from the local bar so it’s hard to sleep, especially if people are still making noises at 2AM. The breakfast is basic; nothing special and I felt sorry for the people who had to wait to get a seat as the seating area was very small. I paid £60 for all of this whereas I know I could have got much better for less. The room itself was clean and decent but small.

We were not expecting much of it considering the price we had payed for it. However, the result was even worse, the rooms were so tiny that once we placed our luggage we couldn´t move, the beds were ridiculous for adults, only 70 cm width, if we tried to roll we would end up on the floor, and the bathroom? you could only wash a hand at the time cause the other wouldn´t fit in the basin, you could hardly enter into the shower due to the narrow space. The cleaning? Just not existent, they just put on the quilt over the bed without even straightening bed sheets, brooming or hoovering, not at all, the dust? not removed for ages. Breakfast, very poor. The positive points, only the good location, very close to everything. To resume, go somewhere else.

We got our room really cheap online, and so were a little apprehensive about what the accommodation would be like. However, upon arrival we found friendly staff, and a lovely (if a little small) room, clean and fresh and newly refurbished. Its in a great location, with tube stations for central, district and circle lines a few minutes walk away. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!
