Awful, room & furnishings stank of stale smoke, shabby & in need of updating.

Staff overworked - too busy to help well - and many had a poor knowledge of English. Rooms were shabby, cramped and not particularly clean. Bathroom tiny, paint peeling from ceiling and not well cleaned. Room was cold and heating was too noisy to put on while tring to sleep (and pretty inneffective anyway) Breakfast not good and breakfast room felt like a cattle market.
Pillows were feather. A colleague asked for a foam pilllow but the staff simply shrugged and said they would not know where to look for one.

We booked this hotel on the website(real easy)Our son took part in the London marathon and we needed to support his efforts, I never used my car as the Tube station was nearby, my car was safely parked out of the way by the Hotel staff.
The hotel was very helpful as we needed to stay until the marathon was over and we could check out.

Staying in Kensington Kensington Rooms hotel off cromwell road. Good value. Modern. Clean. No Barbara or fonejacker receptionist
Harrods If you come to London, you absolutely have to take in Harrods Department Store. It's beyond words and is simply indescribable! You just kinda' say "WOW!"
Earls Court Road a Mecca For reasonably priced good food try some of the restaurants on Earls Court Road near the tube station. I particularly liked Masala Zone for Indian, and Dragon Palace for Chinese. For French food try Little French Restaurant on Hogarth Street (right opposite tube station). One thing to be aware of, however, is that restaurants in London charge for water. Most bring you a bottle but the Little French Restaurant brought water in a glass so I have no idea of its origin (could have been the tap) and charged for it.
