Expensive, and terribly poor value. The Kensington House Hotel fails to provide its side of the contract - a comfortable room designed to give a decent night's sleep.
This is London - in April, and it's cool outside. Yet the temperature in my room (3rd floor) is unbearable. Sleep is impossible - the window has been opened for hours (the external temperature is much cooler), and the fan (no air conditioning) has been running for over six hours (to no appreciable effect).
The radiator is turned off, so the excessive heat probably comes from uninsulated pipework under the floor - the hallmark of, and the curse, of the hotel trade's addiction to cheap cowboy plumbers. The best they can do to mitigate aginst this is, it seems, a fan in the third floor corridor ineffectually trying to undo bad plumbing and crap management. Oh, and in case they deny it, I have the photos.
This is a second-rate hotel charging four-star prices. The Kensington House Hotel is pretty poor value......
