Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, huge English breakfast, excellent location. The room was a bit small, but for B&B hotel it was OK. After four days we had to leave hotel, because there was bank holiday weekend and hotel was fully booked(we didn`t have previous booking). Than I stayed in two other hotels in that area - the same price range, but I can recommend only this. I think this hotel is best choice for the money.

Great hotel

My family and I stayed at the Hyde Park Radnor from 6/22/05 - 6/29/05.
This hotel has great customer service. All of the hotel reception staff were polite and helpful.
They had no A/C and it was very hot but since we got in late around 11:30pm every night, the fan worked fine. The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was included with rate. Close to subway (7 min walk).
Over all great place, i would stay again. (chicago resident).

Not so Good

We stayed at the Hotel for a few nights during June 05,
The Rooms are VERY small (maybe they have other larger rooms but this is all that was available), the TV is 14 Inch and there are almost no channels,
The Room is very hot so if you are coming during the summer, it is very hard to stay in the rooms (even during the night), there is no A/C and the window is small and can be watched from the other side of the road.
The service is nothing to talk about - Towels were not replaced even after we complained and even if we put them on the floor, they just put them back as they were clean.
The bathroom is also very small, but clean.
The breakfast is an ordinary below average english breakfast.
The only advantage of this hotel is its location very close to Paddington station, so it is only 20 minutes from Heathrow by the Heathrow Express train, but the area is loaded with hotels so I think it is not the best choice for this price.

We liked the Hyde Park Radnor Hotel very much when our family of four stayed there four nights in late May 2005. There's a nice, simple breakfast included-- scrambled or fried eggs with ham, plus cold cereals, juice, coffee, etc.. It's only served from 7:00 till 9:00 a.m., though, so you have to be early.
VERY small room and bath, though, for a quad family room. But a very clean and nicely kept place, with new tile bathrooms. Location very safe, and close to Paddington tube, Marble Arch and across from Hyde Park. Beautiful residential neighborhood to stroll around in. Good restaurants and pubs within a couple of blocks. It's family-owned and each family member was very helpful at the front desk.

We stayed at the Hyde Park Radnor for 5 nights beginning May 9, 2005. Hotel location is great, easy 3 minute walk from Paddington Station. We arrived around 10:00AM and were allowed to drop our luggage; check-in is around 1:30PM. The desk clerk was very pleasant. We wanted to head to Oxford St. and the desk clerk gave us easy directions. Edwin who worked the front desk most nights was most helpful. He went out of his way to offer assistance and recommended restaurants etc.

We stayed in room 103, which is a triple, for family of three, included our 19 yr. old daughter. Wasn’t much of a view from the window. I loved the high ceilings and decorative moldings. Room was spotless and had a tea and coffee maker. As we all know you do not go to London to stay in your hotel room, yes the room was a little small but didn’t really matter since we were only in the room at night. The bathroom had just been updated with new tiles, towel warmer and fixtures. It was also spotless. Our room was cleaned each day and fresh towels were provided.

The full English breakfast was fantastic each morning and is served each morning from 7 until 9. For those who prefer a lighter breakfast-- they also offer a variety of cereal. We had a tour pickup scheduled to pick us up at 7:35 and I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to get served. No problem, we had a full breakfast and was in the lobby at 7:30. We did not tell the staff that we were in a hurry, the service was always fast.

We will stay at the Hyde Park Radnor again.

Hyde Park Radnor - Very Pleased

We just got back from 9 days in London and stayed at the Hyde Park Radnor, Sussex Gardens near Paddington. An excellent location as it's a quick tube ride anywhere in central London, but very quiet at night. The room was small, as expected, but cheerful, with high ceilings, and a large window that opened. The bathroom was also small but all fixtures were in perfect order and sparkling clean. The included English breakfast is a real bonus as it provides an easy start to the day - not hunting for a restaurant. They are very flexible too as you can have all or any part of the "full English" and eggs anyway you want them. The service is very fast so no delays in getting your day started. The coffee/tea service in the room is also handy for a late night "cuppa". The front desk service was very good and happily assisted us in getting a tour pickup point changed. When we come back to London, we will definately stay at the Hyde Park Radnor again.

Rooms were nothing special

We arrived tired after a long day of travel, only to find to mixup with the room. It was rather unimpressive when the desk clerk proceeded to throw the clothing and belongings of whoever was still in our room, out into the elevator while we waited in a cramped hallway. Fortunately the room was clean, and although small, pleasant enough. No room to turn around in the bathroom though. Breakfast was okay, nothing to brag about.

I probably would choose to try another hotel next time. The location near Paddington Station and close to the bus route was very good, but for the price I wasn't impressed with the facility.

Stayed for 2 nights in April 2005. Easy to find the B&B after arriving at Paddington Underground Station (2 minute walk away). Also on bus route and close to Hyde Park. Within walking distance of other attractions, but we mostly used the Underground. Good value for money in a good area. Close enough to attractions, but not too close that it was noisy. Breakfasts were very nice and served between 7-9am in a cosy breakfast room. Close to lots of restaurants and also a pub. (The Indian restaurant nearby was very nice). The receptionist at the B&B was very helpful. Would definately stay here again.

Good value in a great neighborhood

For my famiy's first visit to London, this hotel was a pleasant choice. Our family room, though small by American standards, was quite clean and updated. The staff was pleasant and the owners appeard to be on site. We stayed for 5 nights, left for wales, and then returned for our final night. The hotel allowed us to leave som luggage behind while we went to wales which made that part of our trip much easier.

The neighborhood is great, very well located but still a very residnetial feel.

room for improvement would include more variety at breakfast, better towels.

We would stay here again but would probably rent two singles for my family of four for about the same price as the one quad room. For the few extra pounds I think we would have been more comfortable.

Good situation but average hotel

We stayed there for quasi one week. When I first saw the hotel, I was quite surprised because the lobby was pretty small (the pics were more attractive in the website). The room was not as nice as I had thought but it was still ok and the decoration is very discreet and pretty.
The bathroom was small in this room but I guess that they gave us the smallest room.
However, the staff was helpful and nice, except the clean staff, some of them disturbed us two times, which was very annoying. For instance, they completely forgot to clean the room one day. Fot the price, in some other countries, they would have done it better.
The positive points : the breakfast was ok, but the fruits will be welcome and also the yogurts. Anyway, the service was ok.
The hotel is well situated and it was a real pleasure to get the tubes so easily.
I don't know if I would return there but I enjoyed my stay. Was it because of the hotel ? I don't think so. But I did not regret to spend my vacations there. I would avdvice this hotel for a family (the rooms seem to be nicer when they are for a group) but if you are a couple try to see better places !

My husband & I just returned from a short visit to London with another couple. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would likely stay there again. A few problems at check-in (they didn't have our reservation), but it was quickly resolved. We were able to get into our rooms well before the posted check-in time which was great! Breakfast each morning was a great plus and the location was very convenient too! I would not reccomend this hotel to anybody who has not before been to London. The front desk staff (usually only one person) wasn't very helpful in restaurant reccomendations or getting around/pointing us in the right direction. If you need more concierge-type services, stay elsewhere.

Top Local Tips for London

Use the Buses rather than the Underground- dont' buy a Travel Card Children under 14 do not pay buses. It's cheaper to buy a 3 day pass in London, rather than to purchase a Travel Card in France if you're going to be using only buses. I would really recommend you use buses only- you get to see London well (especially if you're sitting upstairs, and you never wait for more than 10 minutes.

Livebait in Covent Garden I would heartily recommend this restaurant - when booking, ask for a booth...makes all the difference. The food was excellent and the service first class! YUMMY!

save a little $ and picnic with take away food We stopped at Marks and Spencer in Paddington before going to Kew Gardens and bought picnic food. It was delicious, including a poached salmon salad and it was lovely to eat in the beautiful gardens. We did the same after a morning at Portobello Road Market when we wanted to sit in the beauty of Hyde Park before touring Kensington Palace. There are many beautiful parks and many take-away food stores. Take advantage of the two for a lovely break in your day!
