If stale smells, torn carpets, detached curtains, slovenly staff and a general grubiness are your thing, then this is the place for you. More Bangkok Hilton than anything associated with a hotel chain.

Absolute rubbish

Amazingly dreadful service crooks as managers I later found that the hotel is black listed by many agent and I understand why. Dirty, smelly mice and a charging system which would be illegal in any other industry this is a definite NO NO No place to stay

I would like to make a comment about the Gresham Hotel Bloomsbury. It was an absolute disgrace. No tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel room. We had to pay £85.00 for one night just to have our own bathroom, which wasn't big enough to swing a cat. Absolutely disgusting. Friends of ours were staying in the same hotel and they had to share a bathroom with other guests. They noticed that the toilets had "undesirables: floating in the toilet plan. The hotel reception area smelt of vomit. I will never stay at this hotel again and certainly would not recommend it. The curtains were hanging off in the room. The rooms were obviously not hoovered properly and I found pubic hairs around the sink in the bathroom. Does anyone bother to check the state of hotels?

Terrible rooms, so-called en-suite so small you can't stick your elbows out when using the toilet, room never hoovered for 5 days, bed linen never changed for 5 days, towels never changed for 5 days... Manager "doesn't like to talk to guests" & and you can't get his name.....

This hotel needs a good clean and some major repair work done! Very close to Paddington and the general area is nice however, I would not stay here again if you paid me!

Good staff but hotel appaling

the room was small, not even a double bed! The sheets were dirty, the shower was dirty and broken, the floors were un-hoovered! Left in disgust - to give them there due they have promised to refund for the night we refused to stay there but only time will tell if they live up to this. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I'm a Londoner, and even I found the people running this hotel to be rude and unhelpful. There is NO lift (elevator) so expect to have to CARRY YOUR OWN BAGS WITHOUT HELP up three large flights of stairs. Rooms are VERY basic (no kettle etc.) and carpets/whole place is pretty dirty. Expect hostel-type accomodation, which is OK if that is what you are expecting. Maybe I just caught them on a bad week...but they really need some customer care training.

Great Location--Front Rooms Awful In Summer, Back Rooms Great

Honest? OK--we made a deposit --35 pounds, perhaps--for the phone--forgot to ask for it back when checking out. Called, clerk said they would mail us a check--he never did. A Dishonest scam you should really really discourage!! Being cheated in an English Hotel is not the Great Tradition. On the other hand, the clerk did manage to get a back room after the front room facing Bloomsbury Road was noisy and stifling.
