Top Local Tips for London

Always use the Tube if Possible Buy the day pass and you can travel as much as you want on the tube. On the trains if you are carrying luggage Its okay to put your luggage next to the doors but dont block the entryway. And always remember to MIND THE GAP. Pack light and do your wash while you are there, prob the worst part of our trip was having to lug our bags around from one place to another.

go for it We tried it all. We did the underground, the bus and taxis. If you're good with maps and used to public transportation the underground is real handy expecially for long distances. The drawback is what you're missing between point A and B. When on the escalators in the underground, stand to the right because there is a steady stream of people running up the left side and they have no tolerance if you get in their way. The best way to see the city is the double decker bus, you can buy a 2 day pass pretty cheap. Wear comfortable shoes.

Buy a Travel Card London's Underground is terrific. We purchased a one-week Travel Card which gave us unlimited use of the tube, buses and dockside light rail trains. It was so convenient and cost-effective.
