I just returned from a one-week business trip to London and this was the worst possible hotel I have ever stayed, for the price I paid. Just to mention a few things: • Staff is extremely rude, in person or over the phone • The phone in my room wasn't working and when I called for repair, I was told that they could only do it the next morning - room service?? Emergency?? Who cares...? • Dirty towels were folded nice and neat, as if I would not notice they were dirty with huge black stains when I open them up... • The bed sheets are not clean, contained hairs, and also had holes on the corners, as if they got ripped out of barbwire... • Toiletries are not replaced - bring your own to be on the safe side... • Good luck if you are expecting a phone call from family or friends - no one answers the hotel's main phone line and when someone answers after 10 or more rings, they transfer to the wrong room... • The mattress on the room was so old and thin and the springs worn out, not...... I have just returned from a very disappointing stay at the Britannia International Hotel in London Docklands. This room was booked for a special occasion, and a bottle of champagne requested in advance, this was well documented and did appear on the paperwork used by the check-in clerk. When we checked into our room, there was no champagne, however a nice bowl of fresh fruit was provided. The room was also extremely warm. Despite activating the air conditioning the room got no cooler, in fact it didn't feel as if the air being pumped into the room was cold at all. We contacted reception and they sent someone up to the room to open the window. We asked that the cooling be looked into since the hotel was next to a building site and didn't really want the window open when work started the next morning. We left the hotel for a few hours, at which time I mentioned the champagne to reception. On our return, the champagne was there but the fruit had been removed. The room...... Read more

1.This hotel would not honor its on-line reservations unless forced to by my credit card company 2. The staff is incredibly rude and arrogant 3. The basement rooms are windowless fire-traps. Stay here at your own peril

I found the hotel very spacious and the view over the Thames from the restaurant very relaxing, however, it was a bit chilly in the restaurant and so looking at the river in addition made me feel a little cold.
The food in the restaurant - buffet style breakfast - needs to be reviewed. Some items overcooked, some under and we had to wait for some time for dishes to be replenished with more food at the servery bar.
On the first occasion, the standard room was comfortable with a nice view from the 9th floor. On the second occasion we were upgraded to a suite, which was great, with a lovely window that was the full length of the room. The bed was also very comfortable.
On the first occasion we encountered a christmas event happening at the hotel. Guests were all over the reception/lounge area and some were young and caused a little rumpus, but the staff were able to deal with it promptly.
I found the manager very helpful with the ordering of my...... Read more

I thought the Britannia was very good value for money with a good standard of room (spacious, clean, good facilities) very convenient location and friendly helpful staff. There is a choice of three restaurants to choose from within the hotel as well as a great choice of restaurant and bars within walking distance. Also convenient for the underground.
