We had a very nice stay at Queensgate Hotel last year. Large bed at an all perfect service.

Oyster Cards, Transport If you are aiming to stay in London, the public transport system can be a very convenience and cheap way of moving around. The Oyster card is a title of transport which can be purchased and then credited with travel and will work out much cheaper than buying individual bus or tube tickets, especially if you plan to use the services several times in a set period.
Taxi Get the hotel to book a taxi for you in the rush hour as very difficult to get one at Gloucester Road
Watch a Musical Go to Leciester Square and find one of the Theatre ticket agents - compare prices and see what seats are availablbe. The Sound of Music is highly recommended!

OK there were gripes -
The biggest gripe - the towels (described on the hotels own website to be "the thickest fluffiest warm towels") would not have been out of place in a cheap ski chalet - small, thin and definitely not fluffy.
The decor could do with a bit of a makeover - stained carpets and curtains that did not shut/missing hooks etc.
The beds, although comfy really need a mattress cover.
Breakfast was OK - but for the price I dont expect butter in a foil wrapper - very Travelodge!
