We pre-paid for a 3 night break. Reception were not welcoming when we checked in, and told us we couldn't have dinner until after 8.0 p.m. This was revised to 7.00 p.m. when we objected, but we had to have a further "discussion" with the head waiter before he would show us to a table. Our room was clean in that there were clean bedclothes and towels, but the room was badly in need of re-decoration. Wallpaper was peeling from two walls, and the ceiling had water stains. On our 2nd night the dining room was closed due to private parties so we had to go to a local pub to eat. A disco in one of the function rooms kept us awake until 1.00 a.m. On the bright side when we did eat in the Dining room the food was good quality, well presented, and cooked fresh to order.
