We stayed in the hotel during a city break at the end of September. We went all the way from Spain to visit the city of the Beatles and we chose the Radisson Sas, something we will never regret! The rooms are really stylish, spacious, clean, bright and with a gorgeous view over the river.
We started our night with a couple of cocktails in the white bar that were served by a really friendly and kind bartender who spoke in Spanish to us. It's nice to find international staff with language skills! It makes you feel at home away from home. Many hotels nowadays don't realize how important it is to make people feel at ease and welcome!
The dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, the menu is very imaginative, the food is very good quality and perfect portions. I choose the Seared Scallops with Fregola Grossa as a starter which were gorgeous. My boyfriend opted for the Tagliatelle with spinach and gorgonzola cheese which were really good too. For our main courses the lamb was the winner. It comes out with melting cheese on top which makes it even tastier. The desserts were really wonderful, the presentation is second to none and they were really delicious. The chocolate fondant perfectly melted in the middle and the cinque of pannacota was composed of some small pannacotas with different flavors that were really delicious! Service was fantastic with really kind waiters and waitress. One Spanish waitress patiently explained all the dishes in the menu to us in Spanish... we need a lit bit of help with that. They all were very helpful and polite and make our night perfect!
Sunday breakfast was very busy but perfect. Staff were running and making everything to deliver a smooth service in spite of the rush. The buffet has a lot of variety and is also designed for people like us who are no really fans of English breakfast. Again 10/10.
Worth mentioned is the spa and pool. Just gorgeous!
We would definitely go back every time we would like to run from busy Madrid!

Great Design

Great Hotel in good location. The staff were nothing more than OK checkout was a little slow. Overall this does not detract from what is a fantastic hotel, one of the best in Liverpool.

Great hotel but beware the mini bar!

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend, for a friend’s hen night at a salsa club nearby. I am not that well travelled, so perhaps easily impressed, but I thought the hotel was lovely, and staff very friendly and helpful. For our room (twin, no breakfast) the cost was £125 in total, pricey for my pocket, but the nicest hotel I have stayed in to date! My warning to people like me (easily excitable and doesn’t stay in hotels often) is to beware of the mini bar, as if you touch anything, sensors in the fridge are triggered and you are automatically charged for it. So of course we dashed in and emptied the fridge to see what was there before reading the warning, so (despite telling reception immediately and having someone come and empty the mini bar) we had loads of items on our bill that they then had to remove! There was no hassle though with them doing it, so not a huge worry! And I overheard other customers checking out with similar problems!

All in all, a lovely hotel (I agree with the comment about how stunning the central atrium is, very like the New York Guggenheim museum from those that have seen it!). I would highly recommend this hotel for a high quality break. Pool & spa area also lovely.

From the first instant the staff at Radisson SAS Liverpool, really know how to make you feel like your stay will be a home from home. The reservations lady, was full of helpful information as were concierge, reception and the restaurant staff in the breakfast room. Directions, hotel facilities, things to do and nightlife, were all explained quickly and with precision. Training at this hotel is obviously taken very seriously. As well as this, the hotel is well located, the rooms beautifully appointed and the food and drinks to die for. Thanks, we'll see you soon.

Modern, stylish hotel, good location

I stayed at this hotel for my 40th birthday. The hotel is modern, in a minimalist way, the atrium is stunning. The bedroom was very stylish, the beds were so comfy, bathroom spotless. Despite being full of hen parties and stag dos there was no noise in the early hours much to our surprise. Disappointed that the spa was closed during our stay as that was the main reason I chose the hotel, however did get a complimentary breakfast for all 12 in the party as compensation. Not really a hotel for families as there are too many drunks in the bar (hotel foyer) even at 10:00am Sunday!! Returning in July and looking forward to it.

just the location lets the sas down

Having checked out Liverpool hotels on Tripadvisor I plumped for the Radisson when staying up for a football match at Anfield. The hotel was great, better than the Budget options and only a bit more expensive. Also better than other Radisson SAS hotels I've stayed in. Only problem is the location - not much public transport and not close to the tourist attractions - The museums at Albert Dock are worth the trip to Liverpool alone - and free entry - but they are a fair old walk away.

After seeing The Thrills play @ Liverpool Academy which was only 5 minutes away from the hotel by cab we stayed in this luxurious hotel for one night.

The hotel staff were superb, the food was spectacular and the general atmosphere was highly acceptable for any traveller or local staying at the hotel.

I would very much consider staying at this hotel again in the near future.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The deco in the room is modern and sofisticated and the flat screen tvs are impresive, and so are the heated floors in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast as well. If you are looking to impress someone or spend a memorable stay in Liverpool, go to the Radisson!!

Good (if not a little overpriced)

My wife and I stayed here for two nights for a weekend/my birthday "treat" in October 2004. Why Liverpool ? because it's a great city and has a vast array of cultural and popular (pubs) resources which can keep one very occupied and entertained.
The Radisson is a good hotel. The appearance is modern, stylish and original. Staff were courteous and friendly. Our room was of a good size and really well furnished - yes a massive bed, plasma TV and excellent lighting, well stocked mini bar etc etc.
Now for the negative bits. The windows don't open. Not the biggest drawback but, sometimes, you really need some fresh air. Yep - the bathroom does have underfloor heating but it's so hot it feels like a sauna. The worst bit was our breakfast in bed (which we were really looking forward to). It turned up an hour late and was not what we ordered. OK - the duty manager apologised in person and struck it from the bill but..... come on... get these important service aspects right.
Lastly - as another review points out - this is an expensive hotel. The aforementioned breakfast in bed would have cost us £22.00 had we not had it refunded. That for a miniscule portion of fried food. Bar rates and dinner rates on the heavy side. That said - if you're on business or really do not have a concern for a budget - this is still a good hotel.

I stayed in the Radisson SAS last night for my boyfriends birthday, and was made up. We're really fussy about hotels - cleanliness, how modern they are, and facilities so were really pleased to stay in the new Radisson (opened Feb, 2004). Although its a bit more expensive (at 130 pound for bed and breakfast in a basic room) than other places, its worth shelling out for a special occasion. The beds are huge - like too big singles in one, with a big white duvet. The tv is a flat screen, mounted on the wall, and no expense has been spared on the modern decor. We stayed in the urban room and it was exactly as the pictures showed it on the net. I'd say that the Radisson is the place to go if you're staying in, as its quite expensive and the rooms are so nice. Also, its probably best for business people because its in the financial area. We just relaxed and watched tv all night. Room service is a bit ambitious - sometimes you just want a sandwich or traditional meal, but it was quite limited and high brow, which wasn't want we wanted - same with the restaurant judging by the menu. Check out time is 12 noon, which is better than most places, but we slept until 11am because the room was so quiet and the bed was comfy - thats not like us, and I was gutted to miss breakfast after reading the other reviews! The service is good, we got our room service free because they had forgotten to bring up the cutlery - bonus. Also, theres no car park, but there is an NCP a 1 minute walk from the hotel (12 quid for 24hours, take the first left past the hotel). All in all, we can't wait to stay again, and it is definitely my first choice liverpool luxury accomodation location. P.s its better than the marriott city centre by far, which is due for a refit in 2005 - about time.

Pretty Good

Stayed at the Radisson for the weekend of 24 September as a little 'weekend getaway' for myself and my husband. We were pretty impressed with the Radisson - it isn't the best hotel either of us has stayed at but we had no complaints.

The valance on our bed was dirty so we called the front desk and they had someone come up right away to fix it. They then sent us a fruit plate and free bottle of wine for the trouble. Its things like this that make a good hotel.

We ate at the 'White Bar' and my husband has not stopped raving about the Lamb Hot Pot. He's a fussy one so if he can find something to eat, anyone can.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Top Local Tips for Liverpool

Bars and Clubs If your intersested in clubbing there are great places to go to in liverpool. For great funky house music and a friendly night out there are loads of great gay bars, head for mathew street. Garlands, GBar and Funky Box are all a great laugh! If your not interested in gay bars travel to concert square (very close to central station), loads of bars and clubs to hit.

Kings Dock Market!! Check out this market every Sunday for some real bargains!!

Taxis Prices of taxi from station to hotel and elsewhere were very reasonable and readily available. Worth doing the trip up the mersey for info and view and good value. Beatles Museum really good allow a lot of time to do it properly and nip into the Cavern free before 6 and enjoy a bit of music and soak up the history and atmosphere and maybe pop into Cricket for some new gear!!.Albert Dock area lovely enjoy a nice big jug of Pimms on a suny day at Ha Ha Bar.Do not miss a trip to the Philarmonic Pub on Hope Street either a fantastic interior and if you can check out the gents urinals!!! Everman Theatre cafe underneath had great food particularly the scouse stew---divine!! Shopping like most cities. Vibrant city which is only goign to get better when all the work is complete a bit of a mess in parts but still a great place with friendly locals.
