I stayed at the Queens hotel and for those people who thought that the queens was rubbish i beg to differ the staff were really nice and the hotel has got a great reputation and will continue to, my room was absolutly lovely, the restaurant was brilliant and the bar well what could i say very relaxing, the staff are to praise for the hotel from the moment i walked into the hotel i was helped with parking my car. checking in nd out with a smile and also nothing was much trouble for anyone, the secuirty staff on the doors are great, controlling the riff raff coming in and out of the hotel at night, you are made to feel special at the queens and we will continue coming there everytime we visit leeds, for the likes of park plaza and the met which are a bit run down the queens will always be the best and famous place to stay in leeds
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at!

To say this hotel is 4* is a joke, me and my husband stayed for 1 night and nearly went home in the middle of the night. This hotel has recently been re-decorated, but the wallpaper is peeling off, the curtins had cig burns, the fridge didn't work and I told the staff 3 times, and still wasn't repaired, but when you opened the fridge, it was full of dust even on the bottles. The bathroom had mold in the corners of the shower, and the plug was broken in the bath. We couldn't lift it up, and spent ages trying to drain the water, the staff just walked into our room at 8am, then walked outside our door very load (i think so we would leave earlier so they could clean the room, if you can call it cleaning) When we ordered drinks because the fridge wasn't working, and we wanted cold drinks they had the nerve to charge us tray charge. The food was very nice in the restaurant, but I wasn't happy about the clanking of glasses and plates as they set the tables for the next settings, for the next day, and while they were doing this, they didn't clean the tables down from the last person eating at that table. If you do go, check out how dirty the silver legs under the tables are, they have water marks and mud on, looks like they haven't been cleaned properly for a long time. All in all my wedding anniversary was ruined, this hotel is scruffy and dirty.

The hotel was gorgeous. All the staff were friendly and polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Top Local Tips for Leeds

Fresh Leeds Those who haven't visited for a while won't recognise City Square directly in front of The Queens hotel. Whilst it's now a major inconvenience to get postage anywhere in the City, they've done a fantastic job of revitalising the square with the addition of Restaurant Bar & Grill and the Loch Fyne Seafood Restaurant filling the Old Post Office's old home. Both are lovely and Restaurant B&G is the place to hang out end of the week for a few glasses.

do not eat in bar censsa got food poisoning after eating chicken at this bar!!

Parking Parking is in short supply and quite expensive (think it was about £15 for 24 hours which, by Leeds' standards isn't that high. However the hotel is two minutes from the railway station so I would suggest if you are staying at the Queens, try and travel by train. Parking is a nightmare at the best of times in Leeds - and I live there !!
