BLOODY AWFUL
As other reviews of the Boundary Hotel.... it is a sh*t hole. The Health and Safety people should be informed. The Chamber of Commerce should be informed and any hotel booking agency should be warned about this dive.
The basement room with the sewage pipes outside the window should not be let out to anyone.
It is obviously an ongoing problem but nothing has been done about it.
The bar served out of date bottled beer.
ONE OF THE WORST PLACES TO STAY IN THE AREA.

Very Poor!
Just got back and what a relief. Where do I start? Worst place I have ever stayed. £50 down the drain! 2 good things, location & friendly staff BUT terrible room!!! Stank. Room in basement, tiny window opened next to the hotels drains so had the lovely smell of sewage in room which smelled like a stink bomb even with the window shut. Dirty room which has not been decorated for a LONG time, including a v.poor pink shower room. Very, very dark & 1970's bed sit like. Owners should really do something about this! didn't want to touch anything in the room bacouse it was so dirty & smelly. Found hairs in the bed!!! Which did not look clean. Left at 7 in morning (check out at 11) without breakfast because room so atrocious!! No wonder they ask for the money before you see the rooms. Run down is an understatement. Beware!

Adequate but very poor value
We booked into this hotel for one night. The room was the size of a shoebox and the wall paper was coming off the walls. It was reasonably clean but dusty under the bed. The hotel appears to be divided into 2- with the Butlers hotel part being billed as the 'luxury' option. Well my friend's room was there and her room was no better than mine. It was adequate for the purpose of our stay (somewhere to sleep after a concert), but at £43 and £73 for the rooms, I felt ripped off.
