Overpriced and noisy room, flawed service ethic
When booking the room I opted for the more expensive 'antique skylight' room. This was £30 more expensive than a standard room for this feature. The room has this feature over the bed but does not have any blinds on it meaning you can be woken up as soon as its light. 'Luckily' for the hotel we were woken up much earlier than this because the room is over the kitchen and you get the crashes and bangs from breakfast preparation. The shower is also pathetic being run off the tap in the bath and set low so you need to crouch under it. When I complained to the staff on check out they said they had heard both complaints before! Dont try and park in car park on a Saturday as they dont restrict it to hotel patrons and is full of shoppers. The TV in the room was more B&B than hotel.
This hotel is not worth £150 a night I paid, I cant recommmend it.
We ate here yesterday lunchtime, three adults and one child, our bill was £93.00.
Small portions, and poor service, the lady serving the food even managed to spill chips on the floor, and thats where they stayed for the duration of our meal.
The prices at the Feathers are way over the top,it is a nice place but not worth the kind of money they charge.
Will not be going again,
I hope managment of the Feathers read this, they really need to be a bit more realistic and come down a peg or two.

Nice room, shame about the service
Nice four poster bedroom, but at quite a price. Well looked after in the restaurant in the evening. Enjoyed a swim in the morning. But the shine was taken off the whole visit by the appalling service at breakfast. Took half an hour just to get a cup of coffee! The excuse was that someone hadn't turned up for work, but at the prices they are charging they should be able to pay for agency staff when needed! And management have ignored e-mail complaint--not so much as a simple apology!
