we stayed for one night, the first thing that went wrong, was getting to the receiption from the car park, went to the first door, fine, then the second door where i fell to my knees because i did not see the tiny sign on the door in red and black to say mind the steps, i did report this at receiption, then we went to the room it has to be the worst room we have ever had, when staying at a hotel,it was not very nice. bathroom, had two cracks in the basin, the bath had black grouting around the tiles, the carpet around the toilet had very badley stained, we have sent letter and emails and phoned, to complain but had no reply, this is over a month,

Having seen previous reviews I was nervous to say the least, however it wasn't as bad as some of the reviews would suggest. OK, its not a super modern hotel with lots of shiny chrome and wooden floors its a B&B in a small town so expect flowery patterned carpets and a pink bath and if that bothers you, go elsewhere.

We stayed at the White Hart in Launceston for 3 nights in August 2008. We were a large family group with children and booked 5 rooms. Each room was en suite, clean, large and comfy with TV, tea and coffee making facilities just what we needed. Each morning we had a lovely, freshly cooked breakfast which set us up perfectly for a day exploring Cornwall.

The hotel itself is a pub with a restaurant it's a bit old and higgledy-piggledy but it served us well.

Launceston itself isn't a great town, no nice pubs or restaurants but we booked late and this was the only place in Cornwall that could accommodate us all. It's a good base for exploring Cornwall and there are some lovely pubs within a 20 min drive.

All in all the White Hart in Launceston is a decent B&B and a good base for exploring.

If you are travelling with small children please note that they do not have any highchairs or cots so take your own.

It was my recent misfortune to stay in this building which I can't honestly describe as a hotel. Downmarket is putting it politely. It is a shambolic ruin with rude and offensive staff incapable of producing anything resembling service. Move aside Basil and Sybil - the couple here can out-do you without even trying!

Although the room was comfortable with clean sheets, the room was dusty and very tired. Decor is prehistoric. Met the manager/owner (?) - the rudest man I have ever met who clearly doesn't think the customer comes first!

After reading the review of 2 out of 10, I was a litttle bit apprehensive about staying at The White Hart. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was both clean and comfortable. Although we are both in our fifties, we weren't bothered by the bar clientele. You expect things to be bit boisterous on a Saturday night. The previuos reviwer needs to lighten up a bit.

Our Sunday morning breakfast was freshly cooked and was excellent.

Like stepping back in time. Rooms were dated and not particularly clean. Bars full of drunken locals. Not a comfortable place to stay. On the upside, food was ok.

It was great, food was good and service was super. Waking up on the weekend going down for breakfast and being greated by a smiling face, makes a holiday for me. They are done to earth and everyone is helpful. Rooms were clean and well kept. Just great we will be back.
