Poor food and room

Stayed here recently but wouldn't return. £100 room with no shower just a bath. Ate in the restaurant, but the food was poor. Medium steak was burnt and the mushrooms rock hard. At least my meal made it to the table, the risotto for the only other couple in the restaurant was spread over the carpet as the waitress dropped it on the way to the table!

Tiny room with a leaking shower and a view of a roof. Staff not very proffesional or friendly. Wanted a bar meal but was told at last minute we could only eat restaurant food at restaurant prices, £16.95 each, so we ate at the royal oak,very nice and the rooms are nicer and cheaper, we were shown one.

WOW. I have just returned back from a wonderful meal at The Crown, in Helmsley. The food was wonderful and the lemon sauce was perfect! I even asked for more!
The assistant chef came out when we asked to give him our compliments and phwoar, he wan't half fit!! but that aside..the food was delightful! For desert I had homemade bread and butter pudding. MMMMM!!! My husband even asked for a doggy bag for more!!
Anyways...I really insist that you go here for a splendid meal, cooked by top quality chefs!
