The Best Heathrow Airport Hotel

from lloyds
We have stayed here twice now - once with secure parking and once with parking at the hotel - and found it to be the best of the Heathrow hotels. Rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant is the best we have tried of the Heathrow hotels. Unlike other reviewers we had no problems with the bill.

The only real drawback is if you are a non-smoker - there is a bar in the lounge area and cigarette smoke prevails in the lobby area. I seem to remember a non smoking area in the lobby on a previous visit but that no longer seems to be there.

The prices are expensive (particularly for food and drink) but this is the same at the other four star hotels in the area. At certain times you can get rooms cheaper than others - it is just luck if that fits in with your trip. You would have to stay somewhere a lot further out to get 'cheap' rates.

With secure parking you drive a couple of minutes to 'Purple Parking'. Or if you leave your car at the hotel the Hoppa bus stops right outside. There was no secure parking available when we booked this time and we were wary of leaving our car at the hotel since we had heard of several break ins to cars in the hotel car parks. Fortuneately we had no problems with parking onsite.

Overall recommended for a 'one night with parking' deal.

Good but typical airport hotel problems

from Gresham
The bed was excellent and comfortable, so full marks for that and that's why I would mark it above average.

The restaurant (Tuscany) was really good but the usual airport hotel rates (i.e.overpriced compared to similar restaurants away from the airport). We were also given no choice of restaurant as 'a party' were in the other option. (I actually think we were just steered towards the restaurant with lower bookings !)

Parking was a problem - they had a conference that day and we really struggled to find a space, for which we were charged £12 (not made clear when I booked). To add insult to injury they then tried to charge us twice for the space, so I agree with the earlier comment to check your bill - we were also charged for a mini bar purchase we hadn't made. (Taken off the bill when we pointed it out.)

Overall it was still a lot better than most of the other Heathrow hotels I have stayed in (and that's several) so I would stay here again (and check my bill.)

Stayed here one night on business, room was very overpriced for what you received. Breakfast not included in room, plus it seems like the hotel nickle and dimes you on everything - everything has a charge. Nice hotel inside, clean, room was fine, but not for the amount paid for it.

Expensive. Worth it??

Nice room - lovely bed. Nice G&T in the bar.

Executive room on 5th floor meant we did not need to pay for breakfast - everything we wanted was laid out free of charge in the executive lounge.

Hugely expensive though - we paid GBP185 for one night with parking for the duration of our holiday in the US. (Purple parking - way off site from Heathrow!)

Check-in was fairly hopeless - I had to ask them to remove the additional charged on the VAT inclusive price we had been quoted for the room. Despite this - VAT was still added to our bill the next morning - another trip to the front desk to sort it out.

Nice swish hotel - parking a bit of a headache - Purple car park van could not pick up from T3 - a LONG walk to T2, despite Marriott assurances this would not be the case.

Lovely hotel - service not so lovely. Check your bill when you leave!

One of the best Hotels at Heathrow!!!

from cadams
Our stay at the Marriot at Heathrow was flawless. We are very experienced travellers, having stayed at hundreds of airport hotels around the world (we're expats) over the last 10 years. The staff was prompt, courteous and very friendly and responded to our requests instantaneously. We requested an extra rollaway bed, and it was delivered within 10 minutes after we arrived in our room. My husband had a minor problem connecting to the internet and a technical support staff was sent within 5 minutes to resolve the problem. The room was spacious and clean and their huge breakfast buffet (included in the price of the room) was one of the best we had during our travels in the UK. They also had the best shower in London (a pet peeve of my husband's who loves having a hot, high-pressure shower in the mornings). Everything was done perfectly. We will always remember this hotel, and plan to stay here again. We had pre-booked at the Crown Plaza at Heathrow for our return flight, and regretted it very much. The Marriot was by far superior in every aspect!!!

Wonderful hotel, but......

We managed to get a good rate of £94 for a park here fly there offer through the Marriott website, and therefore stayed there recently before our trip to Boston.
The hotel is truly brilliant, great lobby areas, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice rooms with very comfortable beds.
We did have a problem with the car parking side of the offer though which has led to a complaint. We were told that our car would be picked up from the hotel car park sometime during the 24hours following arrival and taken to the Purple Parking long term site in Southwall. On our return to the UK we would be picked up from the terminal and taken directly to the car. Great!!! or so we thought.
On return we had to walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 because the Purple Parking vans are not currently permitted in that area. Not a problem, 10 minutes later we were waiting for the minibus outside Terminal 2.
The bus arrived, loaded the bags and waited for it to fill up. Then we heard over the CB radio that there was one party on board that the long term parking people had not got the car keys for. Immediately we knew it was us because everybody else had booked direct with Purple Parking. For some reason the Purple Parking driver then decided he would take us back to the depot for the admin staff to sort out there. 20mins later we were in the long term parking depot, with no car keys and no idea where the car was.
It turns out the car was still at the Marriott and that they had not informed the long term parking that the car was ready for pick up. We waited 15mins and then we were taken back to the hotel, where very tired we were handed back our car keys. We landed at 6.30am, and were back in our car at 9.00am. Not impressed, especially after a 6hour flight.
I can't knock the hotel, it is fantastic but if you book the parking through them just make sure everything is clear before you depart.

Loved the Heathrow, Marriott

from vivvy
My Daughter and myself stayed there the night before flying over to Barcelona. Everything about the hotel was excellent and will hopefully be going back again. I still don't know why they haven't got a 5 Star Rating. When we first walked in we could have felt a little uneasy due to the number of executives in the lounge area but thankfully were made to feel welcome. The concierge even remembered us when we walked back through the door to collect our car after it had been parked there for 2 nights, asking whether we had a good trip. The Leisure Club was superb and all of the staff were very courteous throughout the hotel. Everything was spotless and the food that we had in one of the restaurants was scrumptious, if a little expensive but I don't mind paying for quality. The breakfast was brill. Will most definitely be back.

Best place to stay before or after a flight

Stayed her in the summer just before going on a 2 week holiday to Australia. Truely a 5 star experience! The staff were very courteous and friendly from the moment we entered the hotel. The room we had was a good size, great power shower and toiletrie supplies Beds were nice and comfy, only one drawback is that we didn't have a view of anything, only the hotel lobby which was a bit strange!

Leisure facilities were great, made full use of the large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. We didn't bother eating in the hotel as it was a bit pricey, but go right down the road then turn right again and at the bottom of that road is a great pub serving good reasonably priced food.

I took advantage of the hotels offer of 14 days parking, again good system just parked the car and handed in the keys. I would definately recommend this hotel as the gateway to your holiday!

Spent one night here before a flight and had a fantastic stay.

We arrived about 6pm - check in queue took about 15 mins to get to the front, but then it was a busy time.

Impressive lobby/atrium, with 2 restaurants, coffee bar, and 2 other bars, along with newsagent, internet access etc. Piano playing in the evening.

Room was great for our one night stay. Spotless bathroom, neutrogena products, extrememly comfy bed, and desk/club chair area, with tv armoire. Everything we needed.

We ate in Allies, both had the steak which was very, very good, and the desserts were to die for.
After a great nights sleep, we went for a swim/sauna/jacuzzi in the morning, all included in your room rate. So a perfect start to our holiday.

Couldn't have wanted anything more.

Excellent hotel, great deal!

My husband and I stayed at the Heathrow Marriott the night before our flight to Vegas. We paid for a standard non-smoking room which included 15 days parking and only paid £82.
We got there quite late - just after 11pm as we had a pretty busy day. They were out of the standard non-smoking rooms so they upgraded us to an Executive room. The room was very nice (especially for a UK hotel), had a nice fluffy robe & slippers, loads of pillows on the bed, neutrogena goodies in the bathroom. Ordered late night room service which arrived in about 15 minutes. Bed was comfy, room was clean and didn't smell of smoke (even though it wasn't non-smoking). Check in was easy, check out was easy. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Will definately stay there again!

Top Local Tips for Hayes

Restaurants nearby Try Osterley for great Indian and Chinese restaurants near the tube station. Concierge should be able to help.

Getting to and from the hotel If you are tired or their are two or more of you; the quickest way to get too and from the hotel is via taxi. Waiting for the "Hopper" can be frustrating and time consuming; and for two people "to and from" the hotel its about the same price as a taxi.

Free Bus No need to pay £4, per person, one way to get to and from the hotel and the airport. The regular service buses from the Heathrow bus station are free for travel in the vicinity of the airport
