what a disgusting hotel!

I stayed here for a friends wedding recently and the complaints from me and other guests were endless. The last review on here was 2009 and it seems things have really deteriorated in that place. The whole place was filthy for a start. The room was dusty and the shower was weak, not to mention the damp smell of the duvet. The bar downstairs wasn't much better. The staff were friendly enough but didn't really seem like they knew what they were doing form one minute to the next. I would not reccomend this hotel unless you have infinite patience and don't mind a dirty room.
 

Top Local Tips for Halifax

Things to do in and around Halifax A wonderful example of a Victorian town. Superb Victorian buildings in the centre, including the excellent market, and theatre. Earlier periods represented by the adjacent Piece Hall. New shops a little further down. Friendly 'ambassadors' for the town wander around, helping with information etc. From almost anywhere in the centre you can look up and see the hills. Main problem is that it is on a hill that can be quite steep as you move further down towards the nearby station, so you need to be fit if you are going to wander about (though the main street is on the level). Also by station is Eureka! good to visit with the kids.If you want to get the car out then there is great countryside nearby, as is Shidben Hall, the home of the Lister family. A visit to Haworth and the Bronte country about ten miles away is a must - also good is a trip to the nearby Keighley and Worth Valley railway. Leeds and Bradford are both within easy distance for the shopoholics - and Manchester. Lots to do.

A good meal for a very good price If you want a very good meal at an excellent price my wife and I recommend the Moorlands Inn, Keithley road on the outskirts of Halifax - at the moment they have an early bird offer during the week of two main meals for a fiver each - and you will come out full!!
