Great Hotel, Great Staff

I stayed at hadleigh Gables with my 72 yr old disabled mother,and my 13 yr old daughter. The hotel was clean, the room we had was a family one and consisted of 2 single beds and a double. The room was perfect for us. However if you need a wheel chair accessible shower there are such rooms available also. The meal choice changes every night you order your evening meal that morning. The staff are really good and you couldnt wish for a nicer more genuine manageress than Theresa. You arrive a guest butt are made to feel so welcome you soon feel like a friend.If you have a mobility scooter there is a garage to keep it in and charge it up in. Nothing is any trouble to the staff they are so helpful. During our stay the hotel was extremely busy and due to staff illness Theresa the manageress became our waitress. Rooms were cleaned daily beds made and fresh ample supply of towels. There is bingo and entertainment in the hotel a few nights a week but no pressure to attend if you want to do your own thing. Would recommend to all ages and would love to return soon!

how we enjoyed christmas 2007 at hadleigh gables hotel, and what a difference a change of ownership made in 2008! marcia and the staff did their best, the room was ok, but the meals were poor compared to the previous owners. we did not expect shepherds pie on christmas eve, or cottage pie on boxing day with curry etc. in the evening buffet. however the staff did their best with what they were given i suppose. very disappointed, and we shall not be visiting again.

Worst Hotel Ever!!!

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! We stayed over Christmas and New Year 08/09. The hotel needs complete refurbishing, draughty window sills plugged with paper! , holes in walls & ceilings, tatty paintwork and decor! The owner was not very pleasant, wasnt really bothered about the guests and spoke to his staff like dirt. The only decent thing about the hotel was the manageress, Marcia, and the staff. She couldn't do enough for you, always aready to help. On New Years Day, all staff walked out, the owner was cooking pork and NOT cooking it properly, so hence the walkout, (WHICH WE DO NOT BLAME THEM!) The hotel could be a very nice place, but it needs new owners, would never stay again. If you go, you will be very disappointed!!

What a great way to spend christmas! Good hotel,good food, good entertainment,good staff, nothing too much trouble and no washing up!! Looking forward to the next time.

This hotal is very good the staff are friendly and helpful the whole place is very good, I will have stay there 3 times by the end of this year and been staying there over 5 years and have booked for next year already.
