Have stopped here several times and always had a great time. Food good, staff friendly and very helpful, a true 'home-from-home'. Will be there again very soon.

Myself, girlfriend & two friends stayed @ The Chequers at the end of July. When we arrived the new owners had moveed in2 hours before we arrived. This is the 1st time the family had done anything of this sort before, arriving on scene with zero experience of even running a pub-let alone caring for guest. Despite this they managed to stay up late to have a drink with us AND have breakfast waiting for us, alln within their 1st 24 hours of being onsite!!! The rooms are basic, but perfectly comfortable, with adequate storage & air con'. Thye location is brilliant, 6-7 minutes walk to the town centre & a minute, if that, from the beach. Ive Never stayed anywhere below 4*'s with a pool in my life & I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
