three days before we (my wife and grown up daughter and son) were due to stay at this hotel my wife read review 'distgusting' on here & said cancell it cancell it. I phoned to tourist information to ask if they had had any other recent complaints, they said no and said people vary we should go & see for our self. my wife was very very reluctant to do this but as we had paid £400 train fare & had difficulty finding an hotel with a double & 2 single room. the hotel rooms were fine, our double was lovely, all the bedding in every room lovely and clean and white the dining room was well decorated & clean, the lift was broken but richard helped us up and later down with the cases. the breakfast was nice 2 bacon, thick compared to a lot we have had at home and abroad, 2 eggs 2 sausage beans and tomatoes, and richard, who served it every day, could not have been more helpful. yes some, only a few, nights when we came back 8 or 9ish you could smell their own chinese cooking. I know u may say" well it depends on peoples standards, but we have had 12 cruises over the years, cunard, p&o fred olsen so we are used to quite a high standard. we are very glad we went and tried it for ourselves.
