There were 4 of us and as we arrived late on the Friday (after dinner) all we were offered was a cheese salad and we had to practically beg for that- very disappointing for the size of the hotel. We also found that although the rooms were clean the whole hotel was very shabby and run down - a lovely building from the outside!! The bar did not open until 5pm on the Saturday and was closed by 11pm. The Saturday evening meal was very disappointing, we had better in the market in the afternoon. Definately would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very poor!!!

This was a Shearings 4 night deal HB. Food excellant as well as the service. Nice hotel (but the rooms will need redecorating very soon). Excellant location right on the seafront at Great Yarmouth and we never had any problem with parking at the hotel. Entertainment whilst we were there was superb. 18-30's might find this a bit staid but overall I would recommend it.

The hotel is situated perfectly for all the local amenities and attractions so this we thought was a bonus when we arrived. On first immpressions its very nice with lovely rooms and 2 bar areas but these unfortunately prove to be very cramped when the guests start decending upon them. The hotel offers an all inclusive option which is what we went for and i was pleased when the manager boarded our coach on arrival and told us to drink as much as we could.Ufortunately after travelling 10 hours by bus my fiance endured circulation problems in her legs and feet resulting in our second night spent in the a and e department at the james pagent hospital. The hotel where very helpfull at this point making sure we aquired transport to the hospital in the form of a taxi.after returning form a and e at 3am we where both very tired the next day.We still rose for breakfast which is served every day from 8am to 9.30am in the restraunt where we found the staff very helpfull and the food very good although the choice could have been made better with a breakfast buffet rather than a set menu. The morning of our third day was spent back at the hospital where the staff there gave my wife some medication and to our delight informed us that it wouldnt affect our enjoyment of the holiday i.e the free bar back at the hotel. We finally made it down to the entertainment room on our third night after w very nice dinner in thge restraunt where i thought the seletion on the menu was very good and after opting for the chefs special of mixed meat curry and rice i was pleased to take receipt of a very nice portion and equally pleasant tasting meal.THe entrertainment in the hotrl compised of bingo which produced houses of 23,40 and 50 pounds every night followed by a meaningless quiz which most guests where fed up of by the last night and then the entertainment. The entertainment on the third night was the hotels regular host holly jervais but we didnt get to her due to the fact we where so tired we decided upon an early night and retired by 8.30pm,so yet another chance to take advantage of our all inclusive bar falling at the wayside.Day 4 and our final night here, awake by 7.30am feeling very refreshed and ready for our final day which comprised of a trip to the near by city of norwich organised by the hotel and included in the break.Excellent time spent in norwich although i feel we could have had more time than the 3.5 hours allotted as this brought us back to the hotel by 3.30pm and with the restraunt not open untill 6pm and neither bar open untill 6pm i justb wondered whether another hour in norwich would have been better.Final night and chance to use the bar. After 3 drinks and at 8pm i went to the bar where i was told that my fiance had consumed to much alcohol and would not be served any more in amazement our protested at hotyel reception where i was informed that because of her medication they where not serving her.I duly told them to mind there own buisness and her health was our responsibility and not theres where they agreeed to serve me once again, only to change there minds 5 minutes down the line when my wife went to the bar humiliating in front or a number of guests. On speaking to the manager she promptly over ruled the bar managers desicion and we then began to enjoy our night once again although the whole episode hung over us throughout the evening and although we had had the support of the majority of the guests and the bar staff we felt humiliated and targeted. We had spent exactly one evening in the hotel throughout our 4 night stay and by the drink of that evening where refused anymore and told after they once agreed to serve us that if we became rowdy we would be refused again!!!!!!!!!!!!! SENSELESS so this hotel is not one i would really recomend and after speaking to guests before we left we learnt that a number of complaints had been made in the last four days ranging from the hotel being excessively warm to ther being no hot water and not surprisingly a few came forward regarding the hitler of a bar manager!
