Nightmare!!

In a word..nightmare !!! We arrived and they told us they had no record of our reservation, they eventually realised that they had misspelt our name even though we emailed it to them. We were then taken to our room by the young man that was at reception. We asked him where the car park was and he said the street was fine. On asking where the nearest Metro station was he pointed in the direction and said 10 minutes walk and then disappeared. The best was yet to come ! After sleeping on a sloping bed (sore back for the next three days !!) despite the rowdy return of our man from reception and his mates from a night out we went next door to the actual hotel for breakfast. A room full of young women from a hen's night swearing and yelling about their adventures the night before as the manager sat and listened intently. Breakfast wasn't bad, but we ate quickly to make a quick exit. Checked out to find a dog on heat behind the reception counter and the manager, who had also cooked breakfast, gave her another pat. She apologised for the loud behaviour of the women in the breakfast room and we left. When we were looking for accomodation we looked up websites etc. for places we were looking at staying. Bewick Hotel boasted car parking facilities, a bar and restaurant. We didn't see any evidence of any !! The stay here really left a negative impression of the city.
