Have just returned from the queens after 1 week (our 3rd visit there)we took elderly friends. The bedrooms have been tastefully upgraded. Excellent food/choices, and enjoyable eve entertainment. We all had a really good holiday - and have booked for a week next year! The management and bar staff very friendly - can definately recommend a visit there........

What a lovely hotel. We had a great time at the Queens hotel. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. We thought the meals were fabulous the breakfast really set us up for the day.We all enjoyed the evening entertainment. Only downside was we thought our bedroom was on the small side. Not really keen on having the sink in the bedroom.Everywhere was kept clean and tidy. We will return.

Do not enter room no 1. Heating is on permanently in this room even when rads are off in high summer. Coming from showers in other rooms. I was informed consequently the room is warm and stuffy. I had to sleep with windows open all night and of course the noise of the seaguls made sure sleep was impossible. I contacted reception, nothing else available in hotel, engineer knocked off for the day. No comp. offered, no idea of the rest of the rooms. Everthing else ok.
Frequent Visitor.

We visited the Queens Hotel in June 2006 for a week and were so impressed that whilest there we booked again for the following year for a for a night. We are due to visit again in two weeks time for the third year running.I stayed at the Queens hotel for eleven years as a child and it is true to say that I have a love affair with the place! Having said that, I am not biased with my rating. The hotel is spotlessly clean, has friendly staff to whom nothing is too much trouble and the entertainment is great. The guests are mostly older and they do have a lot of coach trips but this does not spoil the experience for a young couple with a child. My son is always made to feel welcome and is made a fuss of by everyone. The rooms are on the small side and would benefit from a little more storage space and the service in the restuarant can be a little slow at times. However the food is of excellent quality and the childrens menu is extensive. Could do with better parking facilities!!
This Hotel is well worth a visit and is the best one I have ever stayed in. Try it, you could fall in love with it like me!!.

We stayed for a week last August[2007] BBEM and the only downside i could think of was the family room was a bit on the small side with not enough storage space. Otherwise we were really pleased with everything including the reception staff on arrival [and departure].The service and food was excellent and the evening bar staff were always cheerful and very nice. The evenings entertainment was of a very good standard especially the Magician /comedian Peter Baffles who was the best live act of that type i have ever seen-he was great with the kids especially[hope he's here again this year] We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we are staying 2 weeks this year-in August again and we are all looking forward to it very much. Thank you all and keep up the good work!
Going back this year

The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was excellent. and the room was clean, if a little cramped. The children were made to feel welcome, especially during the evening entertainment. We had a lovely stay and felt very welcome, which can be unusual in large hotels. Already booked to return again this year!

My wife and myself enjoyed a long wekend at this hotel on the 8th-11th of feb 2008 and cannot speak to highly of the attention and care we received. The rooms were spotless and the food was excellent. The entertainment was a very high standard.
We will certainly go back.

We went to stay at the Queens Hotel for my mothers 50th birthday and we were majorly disappointed with everything. This included things like booking a double room and getting a family room and every time someone flushed the toilet it came into ours. Filthy rooms coupled with poor and unhelpful staff.food was pathetic and we were asked what we wanted for dinner at about 8 in the morning. The place was filthy and needed a good clean. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and unclean beds. Entertainment was non existent and most of the time was spent away from the hotel. avoid at all costs because it was garbage or as my dad says "gobbage"
