We were allocated a fantastic room overlooking the sea. The hotel is very clean, the food good and the staff really make you feel welcome and really care about your wellbeing. There are plenty of places to visit (having our own car was definitely an advantage) and Lynton is a lovely picturesque town with lovely shops and some good walks. We really enjoyed our holiday but Lynton would not be suitable for people with limited mobility as it is in a very hilly area and Lynton main street is very steep but in fairness Shearings do mention this in their brochures.

Quaint Hotel with unusal interior lounge. Very nice location on top of cliffs overlooking Lynmouth. Lynton is quite hilly so people with limited mobility should steer clear. Rooms were pleasent, bathroom was newly refurbished and very nice bedroom was fine.
We found the restuarant was excellant with good food & service. Recommended

Top Local Tips for Lynton

Very steep If you have any mobility problems or don't like heights this is not for you. The roads are practically vertical.

Mr & Mrs Use boat trip from Lynmouth harbour- excellent

What nightlife? If you like a decent selection of places to drink,take it from me,Lynton is not for you(only two pubs)many more in Lynmouth,though.
