We stopped by at the hotel for our dinner on the Saturday evening of our stay. As a family with a young child, we found a nice seat with the sea view, and went to the bar to order what we fancied for our tea. I requested a slight amendment to my meal, but this was not permitted I had to have what was on the menu and pay extra for the alternative requested, DISAPPOINTED! The bartender was a bit fingers & thumbs, forgiveable if he was new, but 2nd point to note in this end to end experience. I ordered an 8oz sirloin steak, which was not cheap at £13.95, however, 1oz of it was fat which I had to remove, does the chef understand about trimming meat? The mushrooms were disappointingly deep fat fried. The steak was cooked to perfection & the chips were alright. On finding a hair underneath a mushroom we reported this to the waiting staff, who looked disinterested, we then reported it to the lady behind the bar who appeared to be in charge, she muttered a comment about the chef being bald and continued to rush around as it was busy. Eventually, she came over to explain that it was in fact out of the soil the mushrooms are kept in, which we accepted as a probable reason, however, she didn't apologise, and slammed off in a very rude & unprofessional manner. We left feeling why did we bother, we were not valued by these people, they don't deserve customers like us, and we will probably not go back there again, unless this is the best Cromer has to offer. For our trouble, we paid £40 for 2 adult meals & childs meal & 3 drinks. We both work hard for that money.
