Booking in was more of an interagation than a welcome. Not one word of welcome was uttered but you where made fully aware of the rules on parking / bar usage (not that it was open that much - 30 mins from 5:30)and DON'T loose your key card. We where not even given directions to the room never mind shown to it. The room was clean but very dated and needed a bit of TLC. The on suite was small at best and needed a lot of tlc. Breakfast was average. Could not recommend it at all - especially when there was obviuosly a lot better accommodation within the same road.

We decided to take a last minute break to cromer to reminice over good times that we had spent in Cromer over the years. Arriving on the Friday evening, and having not actually booked anywhere to stay, were pleased when the lady of the manor said that there were vacancies. The heating was not on, and the temperature outside was below freezing, we just thought hey well we hadn't booked so can't expect the rooms to be warm. It is a big establishment with quite a few rooms and could be a very nice place to stay as is near beach front and all shops, we even had a sea view! The reason that we have given a 1(worst) is mainly to do with the breakfast that was served in the morning. Every table in the dining room was laid, even though it was not full, hence that you had to dust all crockery before using. we opted for the full english breakfast which was presented perfectly. How ever when we looked a little closer the sausages were only cooked on one side and in the middle were a lovely shade of pink!! If we would have eaten these I think that we would have spent the next 48 hours in the loos! We were not going to make a big deal of the situation until the man came to take our plates, he saw the uneaten sausages and asked if everything was ok, when my husband said that the sausages were not cooked properly and were pink in the middle, the man, Mr Robson, took the plate to the next table and started cutting up the sausage then saying that there was nothing wrong with it, and that it was fine. How rude!!I then said that we are both in the catering trade and that they were not fit to eat. Without another word he just walked back into his own living qurters. Needless to say we did not eat breakfast there the next morning! I know we stayed out of season but I would not like to think of anyone else paying good money to stay in this bed and breakfast as it is very basic and a bit grotty. The customer is never right in this establishment, stay over the road at the Beachcomber, we stayed here last year and all was perfect!
