The Hotel is sited in a Prime Location with good sea views, right in front of the well maintained Pier with a Show on,while we were there. The Hotel is old but seemed well maintained apart from creaky floorboards. There is a modern Lift to all floors The Bedroom was well appointed with tea making facilities,a shower with plenty hot water in our 2nrd floor Toilet suite. The Bedroom was kept clean & well serviced with clean linen. We enjoyed our meals & had good service in the clean Dining Room. Shopping facilities are close to the hotel & admission to the Pier is free of charge. We will return.

The most understanding reception staff ever - Peter! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was hot and tasty. Really good value for a 2 star hotel and in a lovely position.
Let down by Kitchen

Once we'd managed to book we had great rooms, clean, spacious, hot water, good breakfast, good service but having preordered a vegetation and chid's meal for our evening celebration the other 4 meals were brought out and we were then told they pre-ordered ones would be another 5 minutes but we'd already started so couldn't send them back and we'd all 4 finished by the time they came. What was the point of preordering and it wasn't good for a child to have to wait that long. All in all dinner was as you'd expect for a coach party but not for a celebration. We'd go again but not for dinner.
Beware!! Unhelpful, inflexible new management

What a shame this grand old hotel has changed hands. Over the many years I stayed here, it was, admittedly an example of faded grandeur, but at least it had charm. Now, the new management have only one concern - profit. They will not accept bookings until their travel company block-bookings have cancelled and then they go out of their way to be unhelpful. A shame, but I recommend you try one of the other hotels in Cromer.
A truly great hotel

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here - the building is fantastic and well-maintained (which must cost a great deal). The location is perfect and we found the staff very helpful. It's a shame that the Bass Dark Mild at £1.30 in the bar of the the late 1990s has gone, but hey, times change. Thankfully this hotel doesn't very much!
The tariff was very reasonable.

Worst stay ever.

I found this a horrid hotel to stay in. Firstly the rooms where uncomfortable and plumbing was dreadful. In the three nights I stayed there I had cold showers. While eating in the resturant I could hear the screams from the kitchen staff including a range of swearing. I don't believe I even ate a dish that was a french delicacy.
lovely hotel,shame about the plumbing.

You got what you paid for, Staff were very good, worse part of the week-end break was the food.Hotel is a lovely old building, but could do with a little updating, mainly the PLUMBING.!!
Warm Hotel

An interesting old hotel, listed building with creaky floors, but all rooms very warm. Bedrooms good size and clean. Bar a little expensive, but in line with hotel prices which are always more expensive than pubs. Dining room staff efficient, and for what we paid it was value for money. Vegetable portions could have been bigger.
