Never in this hotel again!

This was the absolute worst and most atrocious hotel that I have ever stayed in. It was literally frightening. I booked a “family room” package, which consisted of two rooms on the same floor in close proximity. I did this because I was told that it was forbidden to have more than two people per room for security reasons. Upon arriving at the hotel, I discovered that I was given one room that was supposed to house four people (a “quad room”). The room was absolutely horrifying: dirty soaps stacked for new use (I found a hair on one of them), no toilet paper holder, light switches that didn’t work, a wall heater that was precariously dangling at a 45 degree angle until it finally fell off, 4 gaping holes in the wall, a dirty shower, dysfunctional toilet, dirty windows, cracked floor tiles, and a phone with no dial tone. We called Damon Yoxall the manager immediately; however he was unsupportive, rude and intimidating. He refused to acknowledge the fact that we received one room instead of two, was the most infuriating part of our check-in process. He also said that he can't acknowledge any wrong doing by the hotel, as the reputation of the hotel is already bad. What made our experience in that hotel more frightening is that a room next to ours was broken into!!! The travellers who were in that room were very disappointed as the hotel management didn't acknowledge the incident!!! The hotel looks more like the lowest-grade youth hostel one could find, but with an astronomical price tag. I wouldn’t stay here even if I was paid, and would never wish these circumstances on a most despised enemy. Please, do yourself a favour, and never stay in this hotel.

Awful stay

We booked the function room for our school prom and booked several rooms in the hotel for afterwards. The prom itself was amazing and the staff were all very polite and smart. however our rooms were not as nice. We paid the same price as everybody else yet our room was a lot shabbier than other that had been booked. Our sink was in our bedroom rather than the bathroom which even though advertised didnt include a bath. The drains in our room were blocked and some nasty smells were emerging from the sink and toilet. When i tried to sort the problem all we were offered was a single room for me and my girlfriend to stay in. In the morning i confronted the morning staff about this and they were very rude. Because the night manager didnt leave a note about giving us the single room i was accused of stealing the room and then when it was apparent that i was actually given the room the woman on the desk said "so you had two rooms for the price of one and your unhappy??" i find this unfair as both my girlfriend and i had to share a single bed and had to pay the full amount for a double room for this. Eventually after demanding to see the manager i was reimbured with £30 - the difference between a single and a double. I found the staff to be rude and intimidating and the room that everybody had were all shabby with wallpaper hanging of the wall in some places. It was a most unsatisfactory night.
