I stayed in the hotel whilst attending the 1940s weekend at Carnforth Station. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was clean though the decor was a little 'tired' and could do with updating. The room facilities are basic but adequate. The meals (I had breakfast and lunch) where good and plentiful, I would recommend the Sunday carvery as good value. I would have no hesitation in staying at the hotel again.

We booked and paid for a room on line on Thursday 2nd October for a stay in the hotel on Saturday 4th Oct 2008. We were attending a 1940's event at Carnforth Station and were told we couldn't book in until 2pm at the earlist.

We recieved a phone call answer message on my mobile at 3:30 on the Saturday whilst we were at the event telling us that there had been a problem and that they had "DOUBLE BOOKED" us for the room with someone else, but we didn't recieve it until about 5:30 pm just prior to going to the hotel to book in. We went to hotel directly and asked what had happened and why we now had no accommodation? They said that they had had problems with the internet and as a result had double booked the room we had paid for. I told them this was not indeed my problem neither was it acceptable as they had accepted the booking and the money for the room. They were unrepentant and could not give a suitbale answer except to say that the internet had been down. "For 3 days?" If that was the case why did someone not inform us sooner? Anyway, all they said was that they could give us our room money back. I explained that we had came up for an event and that now we had no accommodation, etc and that they should be responsible for finding alternative accommodation. After much haggling, they agreed to do this and we ended up in another hotel far out of town.
The lack of professionalism was eye opening and the lack of interests irritating. We shall not ever try to return to this hotel or any other hotel in the Mitchels hotel chain.

I stayed in the hotel when I had to come to Carnforth after my dad, who lived in Carnforth, died. It was a pleasent and clean. Could have done with better facilties in the rooms:eg newer kettle, better T.V and satalite tv (although they took pity on me and I did have a free veiw box given to me.) Maybe update the rooms brighten and lighten them. The en-suit was also in poor state, though clean, again needed updateing. All in all a pleasent stay. I would atay there again. Thankyou

Much improvement from last year now under a new tenancy and the staff are very friendly and helpful

We will never stay here again. We found he staff to be rude, unwelcoming and unhelpful.
