5th and last stop on tour of Northern England & Scotland, this is the only hotel/B&B we would not book again. The hotel is noisy (main road right by), smelly, has threadbare carpets and needs more than just a lick of paint. Food good but bar prices a rip-off. Management lacked charm from the outset - just like the hotel - though bar waitress was very helpful.
