Disappointing
Having stayed at the Falstaff for our honeymoon in 1986 and again in 1996, travelled back there 2006, very disappointing, the Sir John Falstaff suite is no longer branded as such and is now 'room 26', although it still attracts a high price per night! Room was dusty & the bathroom needs refitting, not very luxurious at £100 per night, staff ok, but nothing special, no water in the room, nothing more than a standard Travelodge Inn to be honest, but a lot dearer - what a shame! The staff didn't even seem interested in our visit some 20yrs from the first! Oh well, shan't be going back in 10yrs time!

Falstaff not four star
This hotel was advertised as a four star. At £100.00 per night I expected just that. We had a bed with the stuffing coming out of the base. The legs were wobbly on the bed so you were frightened to move just in case it broke. Furniture was old and very shabby. Windows were filthy and falling apart. Dust was thick under furniture. Bathroom needed a desperate clean. The breakfast was small and pathetic, yet they advertise it seperately for £10.50. Would not stay in such a dirty hotel ever again!
