Great Hotel/Cracking Location
from A TripAdvisor Member
After living in Brighton for 2 yrs a few yrs ago I decided to head back for a long weekend. A friend recommended the Queens Hotel and what a recommendation. Great priced rooms and by far the best location in Brighton. E'thing is a matter of yards away.
If you are heading to the seaside, this is THE place to stay. Trust me. U'll luv it!!!

By far, the best place to stay in Brighton
from A TripAdvisor Member
First of all the location - everything is at your feet. It is a beautiful charming old beach-front hotel, perfectly kept with all the modern conveniences you could want. The staff and management are wonderful - I couldn't believe how friendly and helpful everyone was. Also, they have a terrific restaurant and cool bar, so you don't even have to leave the hotel to have a great night out. My friends and I had an unforgettable holiday there and we would go back to the Queens Hotel in a minute.

Nice enough

We popped down to Brighton to muck about for a couple of days on the cheap, staying at a mate's house, but needed a room just for the Friday night. The backpackers was full, so we walked along the seafront looking for somewhere else. This place looked OK, so we asked if they could do us a deal. The very pleasant girl on reception gave us a half price room (£70) which was fine. Huge big comfy bed, nice ensuite bathroom, kettle and biccies. Just what we needed- no frills, quite plain decor. A standard hotel. Went to the steam room downstairs for a bit, which is good and hot. Breakfast buffet was fine too- lots of fruit & toast. No problems encountered at all- had a lovely stay by the sea.
Go not stay here!

Do not stay here!
I had booked a one night stay with a sea view as a romantic gesture.
This was soon ruined by the curtains that did not fit the window let alone stop the glaring street light. To make matters worse the thin glass meant that every voice and vehicle were heard and a very sleepless night was had by us.
This is an overpriced B&B and should be avoided at all costs

Stolen luggage within two hours
from A TripAdvisor Member
Went to Brighton in the New Year for a weekend break. We arrived at the hotel just after midday and our room was not ready so we were advised to leave our luggage in the luggage room. Two to three hours later, some of our luggage had been stolen. To replace all of the items would easily cost three to four hundred pounds. The hotel only offered some basic toiletries but offered nothing in the form of compensation and did not even waiver our hotel fee or offer a free weekend stay. A terrible way to treat guests.
Disgraceful

I took my girlfriend to this hotel for what I thought would be a lovely weekend away - how wrong I was. The room was ridiculously over priced at ?160 a night - and for that you'd expect sheer class and great customer service. This hotel delivers neither. It doesn't even deliver room service for breakfast - something we were both looking forward to but were not told until arrival would not be possible. When I wanted to take food I had already paid for to a room I had already paid for they wouldn't even let me....just glibly replying it was 'hotel policy' so much for being made to feel like an individual. I could go on...?12 for two drinks at the bar?? The disrepair of the rooms and facade of the hotel?! This place is hugely over priced and certainly not to be recomended. I strongly advise you look elsewhere for your accommodation.
Wonderful Hotel

My Mother and I spent 3 nights here for a special deal price. It is a pricey. But we got a great 3 night deal and had a room over looking the beach. It was beautiful. From daylight to daynight, sitting in the huge room by huge windows, ceiling to floor gave us full view. Very relaxing. Inside pool was small though. Water was cold, so we never swam much. Access to shops was great. a long walk to town area, but if you like walking then you have a fab walk there .. All other shopping is close by. Food in hotel was great. Would use this hotel again with same room, beach view.
Disappointing, noisy
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here in Jan 2004, there was no resturant for evening meals, superior quality rooms very lacking and noisy, the whole hotel needs an overhaul and redecorating, but the staff and service were very good. Book at nearby Brighton Thistle instead!
Very Disappointing - Christmas meal on Friday 5th December
from A TripAdvisor Member
We had our companys xmas meal at The Queens Hotel on the evening of Friday 5th December. We were seated downstairs in the basement of the hotel. Several comments were made about the room & it's low ceiling & unatmospheric ambience.
The turkey was awful & tasted like a roll of processed meat. The vegetables were overcooked & the whole meal was a luke warm temperature.
The xmas pudding & sauce was completely cold, several complaints were made about this.
The coffee was luke warm & tasted of treacle & as if it had been reheated several times over. Complaints were also made about this & we requested a hot pot of coffee.
This meal cost one pound less than our xmal meal at The Grand Hotel, Brighton last year. The Grand Hotels meal was superb & the room we were seated in was beautiful.
The meal we had at The Queens Hotel was nowhere near the standards of The Grand. The price of your xmas meal was not cheap & we definately did not get what we paid for. I will not be recommending you as a good xmas venue to anyone.
You should also consider using round tables to seat everyone & improve the layout of that squashed in little basement room you're using for xmas corporate functions.
