A Hotel run by true Professionals

from OCCRecruitment
Shortly after this new property opened, I organised a networking event for about 40 people in April. I belong to the Institute of Hospitality and regularly organise similar events at other hotels.

The whole event was a tremendous success mainly due to those who were looking after us including Chris Williams the GM who ensured our guests had an opportunity to view some of the bedrooms, and personally ensured we had everything we needed.

The room where we held the event was excellent and the service provided was first class.

We later had a delicious buffet supper served in the cocktail bar whichh allowed our guets relax, enjoy the food, wine and the funky music.

I received many good commnents during the evening about the venue and how much people had enjoyed themselves.

A superb venue and highly recommended - it s good to see that people still pull out all the stops and put their clients first.

Well Done Myhotel - you deserve to succeed.

The best holiday ever

from Ecstasist
I booked five days in the Artist's studio, but when we arrived the hotel had upgraded us for free to the penthouse suite -- the Carousel room. Every room has been feng shui'd and they all have crystals in. Our crystal was atop a 400 year old carousel horse which graced the room. We had our own steam room, a bath in the room, copious towels, dressing gowns, a surround sound Mac, a massive telly with Sky, two sofas and a huge bed. The decor was perfect, and local artist Philip Shadbolt's touches were appreciated. We made the most of every day at the hotel, and the staff treated us like royalty. I was very sad to go! I was shown the Artist's studios in case I booked into them next time, but I think they'd be too small as I have a daughter who needs an extra bed. The vibe of the hotel was perfect. I didn't like the food at breakfast time, so I was given something different. We had a laugh with all the staff, and they were so good to my daughter. I will for sure go there again, but only if I can have the carousel room again!

Funky, open-plan room

from freqtrav17
Stayed 4 nights at the MyHotel with my daughter. The hotel is truly a fun design experience - everything down to the teaspoons is interesting. However, after a few days the emphasis on aesthetics over functionality/ergonomics gets a bit tiring. The rooms are tiny, and I mean really tiny! We had the cheaper room and did see into one of the more expensive rooms that are just a bit larger. There is no closet - you hang your clothes on one of 5 hangers (beautiful clear plastic) in front of the full length mirror. So, you have to take all your clothes down to actually use the mirror. There is no bureau and the desk is really just a shelf on the wall. The washroom has no door. I'm glad I was travelling with a close family member! The washroom has 3 parts - all beautiful. The sink area with a window into the bedroom and funky orange accents. The toilet cubicle with brushed glass door and no lock. The shower with glass door and really nice shower head.
Wi-fi did not work at first but worked after a few tries and visits to the front desk. The phone worked, but only once.
There was construction work going on the whole time we were there. I'm not sure if it was in the hotel itself or in the neighborhood.

Depressing, what a mess!

from Shishechi
My boyfriend had booked a room for a romantic weekend away, the decor was hideous and the staff miserable. The bathroom had a see-through door which did not set the romantic mood. We woke up at 6am with terrible street noise and found the whole weekend hard to relax. Waste of money and time!

Definate Wow Factor

from Doeshen
Stayed here on the 10th may and booked it as a surprise for my partner. I found the hotel through lastminute.com and as soon as i read the description and saw some pics i had found my hotel.

We turned up at 12 pm, a full two hours before we were supposed to check in. As soon as we arrived, we recieved valet parking. My partner was sold as soon as she walked into the lobby, very different to other hotels we had been to before.

The guy at the desk said he had a room available and we could check in even though we were early. We got a free upgrade too! The room itself has a big double bed right in the middle of the room and a bay window. We also had a flat screen tv, build in sound system which we could plug our mp3 player into. Also had a dvd player and you can borrow dvds and cds from the hotel. The room is open plan, even the bathroom so not for people who get embarrased easily!

We checked out the bar, nice older crowd mostly with cocktails using some intresting ingredients! The stay also included breakfast which was simple but good.

Overall an excellent stay and a great place to come for a young couple. Location wise, also perfect, 5 minutes from the pier, next to the pavilion, and some great bars/pubs/shops all in walking distance. Some nice few extras for your money include bathrobes, minibar, dvd player, newspaper and magazines in your room, kettle, aveda products etc etc.

The only negative i can draw on is the parking, which was £20 a day, but at least it was secure, and would probably a similar amount through a meter ont he road.

Ikea meets footballers wives

from OldStreet
Not a bad hotel, but then again it is new. Felt like an Ikea store. The rooms had a cold feel to them, stark white! The mood lighting didn't really do alot and if you are in a standard room, your view is a white brick wall. Sometimes you can try too hard to be modern and funky, but themes like this tend date very quickly. It was felt that although it was "Ikea meets footballerswives", the staff were helpful and you can still smell the paint drying. The bar is good, but packed during the weekends.

A hotel with a difference

from Sussex-guests
I attended an Institute of Hospitality networking event at the hotel in April 2008.
Arriving at the hotel was a pleasant suprise after a hard days work, easy to find, great location for taking a stroll in the North Lanes, light and airy, informal but profesional.
I was greeted by a warm and friendly smile by the reception staff and rather than pointed to the location of the event a member of staff offered to show me up to the reception room.
The room was well equipped, with staff to ensure that every need was met.
Later we used the ground floor bar area where we had a fabulous private buffet served. Great food, excellent service and informal yet professional.
All the staff seemed so proud of Brightons newest hotel and provided excellent service to back up the great product.
Long may they continue to be successful.

Stayed for my husbands birthday - excellent from the word go.

They will park your car for you so need to drive round for ages looking for somewhere to park.

Very friendly staff who show you to your room - very funky all white and contemporary, a large plasm on the wall and a point to plug your MP3 player into (you just need to ask for a cable)

The bar has a DJ playing and the atmosphere was really lively - a good place to start off your evening.

The hotel is situated right in heart of Brighton so everywhere is pretty much in walking distance.

Breakfast was good served in the bar.

We stay in Brighton quite a lot and this by far the best hotel to date.

ONE TIP - A lot of Brighton hotels insist you stay a minimum of 2 nights on a aweekend and even Myhotel do on their own website, we booked through Lastminute.com and that meant we could book 1 night only.

If your looking to stay in Brighton I recommend you stay here

We stay in Brighton a lot and this is by far the best hotel

Myhotel in mytown!

from BossHanson
Finally someone has given Brighton the funkiness it warrents without cutting corners on the impementation.

Too often we've seen quirkiness manifest itself in this town with some loud wallpaper or risque paintings, but fun stops when you try and get some hot water from a tap or order room service!

Our standard room at myhotel was certainly different - almost Buck Rogers-like - a futuristic white pod with a big central bed, comfy chaise-long in the window and good shower (no bath). Plenty of hanging space in large wardrobes with substantial sliding doors.

As early visitors, we were led on a tour of two of the hotels suites. Truly great - very decadant with wet room showers or in-room baths. Definately the place for rock stars playing the nearby Dome to stay.

It is a fantastic location. Short walk from the train station. Right in the middle of the brilliant North Laines (have a pint in the Basketmaker's Arms where all the boxes on the walls of the pub contain little messages left by previous visitors).

The MyHotel restaurant was not open when we visited (July 08?) but there's plenty in the area. The bar was in full swing. Really good staff. Really good drinks. Really bad hangover!

My Hotel in Brighton

from Voyalo
I invited my girlfriend there mid April for a sunny gateway from London. The plan was to chillout by the sea side in enjoying Brighton's atmosphere.
i booked with my hotel mainly because of its convenient location right into the heart of the city but not to far from the beach - by a beautiful Taj Mahal like building - and also as it is a brand new hotel.

- 'mypreferences' - great My Hotel concept to surprise your girlfriend, nice display of chocolates and flower on the bed for a little extra
- Brand new hotel - great impression when you walk in. Modern design, though this curvy interior architecture gives you right away a feeling of well being
- Downside: restaurant not open yet - building it now but no noise disturbances, planned for the summer
- Great bed - you just want to purchase one! Amazing comfort and design
- Nice bathrobes too

Excellent for a nice weekend with your soul mate. Staff friendly, helpful and professional
