We paid extra for the "deluxe" double room. What that didn't provide was a side table. next to one side of the bed and not the other. Very little clothes storage space, a broken shower door, shower controls which were opposite from marked (cold=hot, so you scald yourself), a broken extractor fan which dropped dirt on the loo, tremendous heat in the room, therefore wide open windows with all the noise of drunken people all night until 5am. We moved two doors down to their other hotel which is about the same price but much better equipped. The single room we rented with "private" facilities means using a loo and separate shower on a landing accessible to everyone.

I stayed for one night whilst in Brighton for a job interview. Staff were friendly, courteous & approachable (and beautiful!) and room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Complementary biscuits were devoured with relish. Rates were very reasonable. I was feeling mad with nerves about my interview but my stay here helped me relax. When I was unexpectedly offered the job I had to find accomodation in 2 hours flat before my train home the next morning and the staff helped me out with advice and maps all while serving a wonderful breakfast. Great area too - central but quiet - I will now be living just a few streets away! Extremely highly recommended.

Top Local Tips for Brighton

brighton hates cars If at all possible, travel without a car, use the train then get a taxi to the hotel. Nearly everywhere in the centre of town and near the sea front is pay-and-dispplay from 0900-1800 at £1 per hour. This adds an extra £18 to a 2 day stay!

Money off vouchers for use in Brighton If you are planning to visit the Sealife Centre, I would recommend buying your tickets from Last Minute.Com.

Good Restaurant No Name Restaurant on James Street - excellent food and great service.
