We have stayed at the Brockton many times since 2006 in various rooms. The hotel is well maintained the cleanliness is high the towels changed daily. Good quality food excellent full English breakfast, dinner has a choice of 4 starters 6 main courses daily, complete menu is changed 3 times a week, vegetarian food is available and diabetics such as myself are catered for. A good bar and lounge available. We have booked again for June and September 2009. Alan and Marion are very pleasent hosts.

stayed at the Brockton GUEST HOUSE! for one night.Arrived late afternoon after travelling from plymouth to be greated by a very rude man with half his lunch down his shirt! found him to be unwelcoming or helful! Surprisingly the rooms were nicely decorated, clean and fresh although rather cold!!Carparking was okay if you didnt mind being blocked in! Didnt get to breakfast as it was for half an hour only ,so had it in a local pub indtead! but my fellow guests said we didnt miss anything!Im sure if the proprietor took a class in hospitality it could be a nice place to stay, ive felt more welcome in a Travelodge than GUEST HOUSE PARADISO!!

It is noticeable that persons giving poor reviews never give their names so I treat their comments with suspicion. Two reviews are from a time I stayed at this hotel and though they stayed at the Brockton I wonder on which planet they were because it certainly was not at the one in Bridlington. The whole stay was an experience we intend to repeat as the rooms, meals, and staff were top notch sure Alan has a dry sense of humour but he is never rude and if you have any special requests every effort will be made to cover them. Best in Brid by a long way so detractors please note, if you won't sign it don't write it!

Mr and Mrs Brockton rule. The hotel was lovely and they made all of our guests feel welcome. The food was great, the rooms were perfect and they really made us feel welcome. We had the best weekend ever. Thank you!
Poor Service, Poor Staff

We found the Brockton hotel had an unfriendly feeling. Hospitality seemed shallow.
Food was bland and resembled microwave cooking. Car park for a few cars was of the road but you park at your own risk at being boxed in and it could be for all day, beds were clean. For £33 per night bed, breakfast and evening meal there are far nicer hotels in Bridlington than the Brockton.

I wouldn't stay there again.

The standard of cleaning and furnishing in the rooms was acceptable, but the rooms were very cold, even in June. The Brockton's adverts state that there is adjustable heating in all rooms, and yes you can turn the radiators up or down, but this isn't much use when the central heating system is switched off for most of the time.
Breakfast was only served for half an hour each morning, from 8.30 - 9.00, so if you wanted an early start or fancied a lay in you had to miss it. Not that you were missing much, the cooked breakfast was just eatable, the cereals were cheap, the orange 'juice' was either squash or reconstituted powder, either way it was so watery you could see through it. And I won't even mention the tinned tomatoes!
I don't know how this ever got four stars. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I totally disagree with the review by the library travellers. My husband and myself have stayed at the Brockton 3 times and have found the food to be of high standard, cooked freshly by Alan or Marion, who are both trained chefs. How anyone can call this 'supermarket food' is beyond my comprehension.
Expensive

Found hotel accomodation very good, towels etc changed daily, clean and tidy environment, parking quite good, only problem was there seemed to be no qualified cook as the food was completely unacceptable, no special dietery requirements catered for, the food that was consumed was prepacked supermarket purchased and didnt really come up to standards expected at all considering that the establishment does have a four star rating. Also considered the hotel to be quite expensive overall.
