great value holiday /break

went with a party of eight, the service was great
and the staff gave excellent service.The food could not be faulted.
The only fault I can think of was the pillows on the bed could have been softer (I went out and brought one for myself)
The coach driver was excellent and kept us amused
on the journey.

We had a very enjoyable few days at the Majestic Hotel. The choice and quality of the food was first class and the staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and clean room with adequate facilities. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Have just returned from a 3 day break at the Majestic. Having read some of the reviews before I went I was rather concerned with what to expect, however felt I must put the record straight. My partner and I went with my parents ( both in their 80s) and had a very enjoyable stay, the Hotel was clean, the staff,without exception, friendly and helpful, food varied and of good quality, drinks reasonably priced and last but not least the entertainment was very good. We all had a great holiday and would not hesitate to return sometime and recommend to others.

When we first visited The Majestic about six years ago, the hotel was clearly in need of some refurbishment. However, during our visits last weekend and in July 2008, there were signs that improvements had been made and our bedroom was quite comfortable and clean on both occasions.

Meals were very good and the menus were varied. Our waitress Stephanie was pleasant and helpful.

We also enjoyed the entertainment. The hotel is situated quite close to the seafont, and there are frequent buses from the end of the road which go to Bournemouth and beyond.

A good all round hotel with excellent food and the staff and service canot be faulted. Rooms could be bigger, but very clean and comfortable. Would certainly return.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable one week holiday at the Majestic Hotel. Food was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff very helpful and friendly. Small lift holds three persons. 300 from cliff top. Rooms clean and comfortable. Entertainment each evening.

Tired Hotel, Poor Food

Drab frontage to hotel. Tired public areas, standard of food very poor. Unfriendly, sharp & unsmiling waitress. Toilet leaking (reported but not fixed). Unsafe stair on 2nd floor. Windows misted up in room, so no view. Tiny lift (1 person + suitcase). Drab net curtains throughough hotel drooped down on overstretched wires. I complained in a letter to Shearings director, but no joy. No one we spoke to staying in the hotel that week was happy.... I could go on!

Price for half board excellent (Shearings Self-Drive Break). Rooms and en suite reasonable and clean. Management friendly and helpful. Meals most efficiently served and of good quality. Limited on site parking but plenty in road alongside. Hotel 3 minutes walk to cliff top.

Top Local Tips for Bournemouth

Eating out Don`t realy on Bournmouth town centre for a good lunch, pretty poor realy espesially on weekends when it`s crowded. Seemed to lacking in eating pubs or perhaps i didn`t kook enough. Had to resort to a Harry Ramsdons, which to be honest i enjoyed.

beautiful bournemouth Bournemouth is just wonderful - whether your 6 months, 6 years, 16 years or 60+ years. Bournemouth caters for everyone - there are places to go for peace and quiet and tranquility and there are the hiphop places for the late teens and early 20"s. The beaches are breathtaking, the shops wonderful and if the weather is good you could be in Ibiza. I have been going to Bournemouth since I was a little girl, I then took my boys there when they were little and now that they are grown up it is my and my Husbands romantic getaway. Thank you Bournemouth.
