I’ve stayed in better quality B&B’s and paid half the price for the privilege. The towels were covered with brown stains. The room was freezing cold. The beds were uncomfortable. The “hotel” was hideously outdated. The cooked breakfast was served on a plate ever-so-slightly larger than a side dish. A friend of mine called the hotel a week after I booked a room, as we were hoping to stay in the same hotel. She was told over the phone that if she wanted a double room she may as well look elsewhere as the rooms were tiny – go figure!!
