My friend and I went to Blackpool and stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. We were greeted by a friendly face by the name of Jack followed by Helen the owner who welcomed us as if they had known us for years. We were told about places of interest the usual rules and regulations etc. I was very impressed with their layed back approach which made me feel as if I were at home. If we needed them at any time, we just rang the bell and they appeared as if by magic with a smile and ready to help. The room was faultless, two single beds which were so comfortable which gave us a good nights sleep. There was a corby trouser press, welcoming tray with the usual refreshments, fresh white towels and a dvd/tv with free view. Breakfast was extremely good, as soon as you walked in you were greeted and told your toast was on it's way. This was followed by a piping hot full english, you could also have cereal and endless tea, coffee & fruit juice. It was a non smoking establishment as they all are, but out the front was a bench for us smokers to use. The bar was open from 8:30 am till 11:00pm with a good variety of drinks to offer. A good range of leaflets and local information could be found in foyer, plus the hostess also displayed the local weather and entertaiment printed from the internet. If you needed to know any information on where to eat or nightly entertainment they both knew where to go.
The location of the hotel was at the north end of Blackpool which is a quiet area but only a few minutes walk to the promenade where you can catch the bus or tram into the centre, there are also taxi's in the vicinity freely available most of the day & night. There is a local family pub, a few minutes walk called the Gynn where they do excellent meals & carvery at an affordable price,an example would be the carvery being £9.95 for two !plus they do other meals at £8.95 for two, unbeatable value.
To summarise my review,Helen & Jack were down to earth, friendly and most helpful, the Hotel is faultless and I would highly recommend a stay there. I for one will definitely be going back next year!
