Stayed for 1 night 23/10/05.Check in no problem then went to our family room 226.On opening the door a fowl smell greeted us which my wife said was urine which seemed to be coming from the wardrobe.the room was very basic and we had to keep the windows shut as i think we were above the kitchens and could keep smelling food odours. On reporting the smell in the wardrobe the management were quick to act.We also had to wash in cold water as there was no hot.On checkout we spoke to 3 other residents who were waiting to see the manager to complain.Cant say i would stay there again..

Great service and food.

I stayed 4 nights at the Cliffs in Blackpool with my wife and i can highly recomend this hotel.
It was very easy to check in and the room was very comfortable and clean and warm because Blackpool was very cold while we was there.
The best part was the food and service. Our waiter Lloyd really is a excelent and polite waiter. My wife is Mexican so every day a bottle of chile was waiting at our table for her,he really loves his job and it shows.
The food is so good and a the daily menu has a balanced variety.
We both liked the gym which is a+ and the nightly entertainment is good fun usualy with a comedian and a singer.
If you want a nice friendly place with good amenities and excelent food try the Cliffs hotel Blackpool. Dont forget to ask for Lloyd to be your waiter.

Loved the hotel

We went to the Cliffs for the first time in August for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The meals were great and the waiters couldnt do enough for you. The Jungle Club (for kids) was great and my son couldnt get enough of it! Even when we went a day to the pleasure beach he wanted back to the hotel! The entertainment at night was first class. All and all it was a great holiday and we will be going back shortly.

Excellent restaurant service

Stayed there for weekend break. Facilities good and the food and the service in the restaurant were excellent. Only down side was the room (family Room 151), which I can only describe as shabby for a hotel in this price range, and was directly above the entertainment room which had loud music blasting out til 1:30 in the morning (no good if you got tired kids).
The one piece of advice I have is that if you book via the internet booking service, check that the room isn't anywhere near the entertainment room and take a copy of your conformation with you as I booked for 2 adults and 1 child and got a confirmation price through for that, but on checkout they tried to say that the booking price was for two adults only, and were going to charge me extra for the child place, until I produced my copy of the confirmation to back me up.

I have stayed at the Cliffs for 1 week for the last 4 years and i must say that everything in this hotel is 1st class, rooms, food, pool, staff all great !!! its well worth the extra £££s

good location for staff christmas party

from atkibee
We've had our chrsitmas 'works do' at the cliffs for a few years now and it's always a good laugh. Nice lobby/ lounge area with a bar serving simple snacks. Pool. Rooms are always clean- but simple.
We get a party deal which includes a 3 course meal which is always nice considering that they are catering for a huge number of guests, along with caberet and disco. Cooked breakfast is also included. It's really good value for money. I wouldn't go for a romantic break here- neither would I choose this hotel is you were after fine cuisine but as far as a good night with accomodation and food thrown it, it's a good deal!

Family gathering at the Cliffs

Just returned from a second trip to the Cliffs hotel, Blackpool. Nice spacious hotel, with comfortable rooms. Food is good and served quite quickly to the tables by the staff. Good sized swimmimg pool. The enternmaint is not brilliant, but then you don't go to Blackpool to sit in the hotel all the time. All in all a good stay.

I think the Cliffs Hotel in Blackpool is a terrific place. I have stayed in some places that have cost a lot more money or the same price and it is like the Savoy compared to some.

The rooms are really nice as are the staff and the food it great. Just a shame about the resort itself could be a lot cleaner

The can have no complaints. I shall be going back again

I have just come back from staying at a hotel in newquay it was like staying at Faulty Towers we went with Robinsons tours never again.

Fun for all the family!

from Liverpool
My wife daughter and I had a very pleasent stay indeed at The Cliffs during the October school break of 2004 (Scottish holidays). The room albeit a little tight was more than acceptable but the temperature of the room was unbearable (even with the window open)! However, most other aspects of our stay were of a very fine standard. The food was excellent and catered for every taste. The speed of the service in the restaurant was lightning quick even with the hotel being more or less fully booked. The leisure facilities and the kids club were all run very well although the sauna was out of order for our stay. My wife enjoyed her massage and I believe she thought it was good value at £28. The pool was good fun for my daughter and I but beware the depth if you're with kids or are a poor swimmer. In my opinion a very good place to stay and I've booked again for 2005 in a promised larger and cooler room. The only reason for changing hotel in the future will be the smoking policy. There isn't a no-smoking bar and I refuse to put my daughter's health at risk. She is 7 and my life! I may try The Sheraton in the future due to their no-smoking policy in certain parts of the bars. Hope this is helpful.

Best hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We our regulars at the cliffs and not once out of the 11 times weve been, has there been any faults or problems. The hotel is fantastic for famailys. And ideal for famaliys with children. The hotel is packed out with things to do. With a god send KIDS CLUB!! a good sized swimming pool, snooker table/pool table!
The rooms are very comfortable and some with a good size. The a-joinning rooms are great with a no extra supplement!
The entertainment is very good and try their very best to do something for every one. The commidians do their utmost to try and keep most of the jokes and launguage down as possible as alot of the guest are children. I would not recomend the cliffs if you were looking for a great commidian, but the cliffs other hotel the viking talk of the coast hotel has an excellent commidian BUDDY LEE who is sure to make you laugh of your chair!

Top Local Tips for Blackpool

Blackpool has gone down hill Blackpool has gone down hill and is in serious need of refurbishment, however there is lots to do for families and the older generation!!!! Dont bother with romantic getaways or honeymoons!!

Tram/Bus Tickets Buy a 3 ,5 or 7 day pass as you will save a fortune as the single fares within one day amounted to the same as a 5 day pass! You can get them from The Cliffs reception or from most Information Kiosks

Parking Arrive early as others leave about 11.00 and get a parking spot
