| The Boltonia was OK |
| The Boltonia seemed a nice little hotel to which one is committed to paying the full fee once a booking is made, though only the deposit is taken at that stage. It was clean enough and offered all expected facilities to a clientele predominantly of couples in and around their sixties. The staff all seemed happy and keen to help - quickly replacing the out of date milk thimbles, re-attaching the LCD Freeview television to the wall and supplying a second set of towels. The full English breakfasts were good, although guests really are not permitted to help themselves to the cereal.
On the down side it was sometimes difficult for us to sleep in our forty eight inch "double" bed with the room so hot (on a rainy April night) and the plumbing in the next room so loud. The on site parking was on a blocking others in and leaving the keys with the land lady basis, which I was not altogether comfortable with.
To end with a joke:
"I say, I say, I say; what is the difference between a single room and an economy double ?"
"An economy double has two people staying in it."
