Big Hotel, cheap guest house experience
The good: reasonable size rooms. Easy to find
The bad: No heating in rooms working. Not sure this was a fault or intentional cost cutting. Solution was to provide a noisy fan heater.
Room decor is in desperate need of update. Shower worked but was tatty. No double glazing so previous occupants had used beer mats to stop windows rattling.
Limited facilities - very limited room service menu. Basic TV 1-5. **Extremely** limited parking. Small bar (not tested). Average service at buffet breakfast - no a la carte breakfast menu . Oh and they (slowly) bring your tea/coffee round in jugs rather than individual tea pots.
The Summary: My wife was taking part in the dancing finals at Blackpool tower. I chose a "large" hotel with room service because I was staying in for the evenings with our two year old son.
What I expected of a "big" hotel was big hotel facilities. On the face of it this hotel fits the bill. In reality I may have well have stayed in a guest house and save my money.
Recommendation: Stay in a proper big hotel instead.
