When we arrived at the Hotel,we was greeted with a warm welcome and a beautiful,Very Cosy family run hotel in between the South and Central Piers,on a lovely quiet street, close to the seafront,we was very impressed from the start and found the room clean, warm, fresh and inviting.
The service of the room was optional,we chose not to have it as the room was so clean from when we arrived,we didnt need it.
Breakfasts for me,was excellant and a real plus for the Hotel.Nice Cosy table layouts, fresh colours and Gorgeous foods.

My Wife and my Son and myself had a wonderful time and recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Spotlessly Clean and a lovely place to stay

from C-Ann23
Stayed at the Clovelly with my daughter who is 9 months old, my sister who is 14 and my best friend at the beginning of August for 3 nights Fri-Mon.
Well what can I say the place is just as everyone has described it! It was fantastic! Spotlessly clean, modern and the breakfast was just amazing!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to come home!
Hilary and her husband were lovely, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Any time we go back to Blackpool we will definitely be staying at the Clovelly.
Thank you Hilary and Kim for looking after us we had a wonderful holiday! We can't wait to see you again!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Clovelly with my sister , mum and family friend at the end of july. We had a lovely warm welcome from Hillary who checked us in and showed us to our rooms in no time.My sister and I stayed in the Boutique room, which was fab. Lovely, comfortable and very modern, also spotlessly clean , as was every part of the hotel. My mum,, had her own ensuite room with flat screen tv, again very modern and very comfortable. she was delighted. On our first evening sitting in the lounge Hillary joined us for a chat, had a lovely night as Hillary was very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.Breakfast was a treat, you will no go hungry here, lots of choice. the full english breakfast was delicious. Can highly recommend this little gem of a hotel, want to thank Hillary and her family for making our stay very enjoyable, hope to stay again soon.

Hi WISHES 9 thank you for the review hope you all had an enjoyable time whilst you were at Blackpool.
Glad you liked the Boutique Room we only re-furbished it February this year and wanted to make it something special, we are now getting 100% occupancy on this room so it looks as if were going to do another room!!. more mess and money ....but from the guests views will be well worth it.
We pride ourselves upon breakfast we only want to give you the best!!...we use locally sourced produce and free range eggs and our choice of breakfast exceeds itself ,so thank you once again for the review Hilary xxx

from BramhamDaddy
I wouldn't normally write one of these, but something inspired me to do so and that was the wonderful stay we had at this hidden Gem of a Hotel,so cosy and inviting,if we could of stayed longer,we would of.We booked in for 3 nights friday-monday and on arrival, was amazed by its clean, cozy entrance and delightful street it was located,Quiet but within reach of both South and Central Piers, and the Seafront within yards. It was such a charming hotel, with wonderful Hosts, and great staff, the Room was fantastically clean and the service at Breakfast was a delight.Great Hot Food,Lovely Seating plan and friendly hosts.

we didnt want to go Home and we felt very Sad when we got home because we trully believe we had exxperienced a Hotel that MADE our holiday complete, even when it Rained outside, the Sun shone in this Hotel. Recommend to any famalies and friends

Perfect !!

from alanandrobina
We travelled to Blackpool without having booked a hotel as we had experienced disappointment after booking with other hotels previously so we decided to look up 10 or 15 hotels online and rated them according to how good they looked online, we visited the first hotel and were extremely disappointed with the overall standards especially the cleanliness, so we decided to go to the next hotel on the list which was "The Clovelly Hotel".

The first impressions from the outside were very good, it seemed to be in a nice area and looked very welcoming and was immaculate from the outside and so we rang the bell, where we were greeted by Hilary. We were invited in and asked to see the room (On the way to the room we couldnt help but notice how clean the hotel was throughout and the hallways smelled lovely) anyway we got to the room and it was very clean and fresh smelling, had a good sized bed (even with a ruptured disc in my back the bed was extremely comfortable and i havent had as good a nights sleep for at least 2years) there was a nice rack to hang your clothes on and a mini ironing board with a small chest of drawers and a nice shelve with a kettle and some goodies to welcome you (the hot chocolate impressed my girlfriend) in the en-suite (very nice shower!! hot and powerfull not a dripping hose that keeps you up all night like in some hotels) again everything was very clean and smelled great, there was complimentary cotton wool balls, cotton buds, shower gel (which smelled fantastic ) we stopped in the bar for a drink before heading for a stroll round the shops which again was very clean and tidy and i enjoyed a nice crisp pint of lager.

We got up for breakfast in the morning (which smelled great on the way down)and went into a lovely dining area which was very tastefully decorated and guess what it was immaculate just as the rest of the hotel is. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and had generous portions. We then headed to the shops and after to the pleasure beach. When we left the pleasure beach most of the nice places to eat had closed (we'd lost track of time) and it all seemed to be greasy little cafes on the way back so we decided we'd wait till morning to eat as the hotel food was so good, but when we arrived back Hilary and her husband Kim were having none of it and offered to cook us something to eat even though it was after 9pm and it didnt disappoint, we had fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious!!! we only planned to stay one night but ended up staying two because we enjoyed it so much.

It seemed as though nothing was too much trouble and although being very difficult to impress we fell in love with this hotel to the point my girlfriend asked if we could come and live in the hotel. This was 5 star service in a 4 star hotel, we really enjoyed our stay and will def be coming back for more of this kind of treatment!!!!!!

thanks Hilary and Kim your great hosts!!!!!!!!!!!!

me and my boyfriend went away for the weekend for his birthday, we were a little nervous as we are a young couple as to whether people would be funny with us, but we were greeted by hilary, and told all about the hotel, all the staff were very kind and welcoming, the hotel was lovely, especially the dining room, the decor was gorgeous! the rooms were lovely also, everything was clean and tidy and the hallway smelt lovely! the hotel is very close the the promenade and the centre of everything, so was very good for days out and finding your way around. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! especially family and couples, was such a delightful stay.

The welcome we recieved was wonderfull Hilary & Kim are so friendly advised us on all the best places to go and places not to go so we didnt waste our time. The rooms are great and very clean and if you need anything all you have to do is ask once. The food was amazing too.

The hotel is lovley and you can just make yourself at home with no worries. I would advise anyone to stay here, the location is perfect right in the middle of where you need to be (pleasure beach one way & shops the other way). Great hotel Kerry

A GEM OF A HOTEL

from GARYH69
We visit Blackpool on a regular basis and this hotel is without a doubt one of the best we have stayed in.
What a great time the wife and I had during our stay at this little gem of a hotel.
From our arrival to our departure we were made to feel welcome by our hosts.
The hotel is immaculate throughout, our boutique room had a Super King Size Bed, 37" Plasma TV, Mini Bar and with a Full English Breakfast served to our room, helped make our stay a special treat.
Thankyou to our hosts
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an oustanding value for money stay in one of the best Blackpool has to offer.
We will certainly be returning in the near future.
Management Response from The_Clovelly
Thank you for the comment we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us....yes our Boutique room has become very popular with our guests having a 6ft bed and breakfast served to your room can be a lovely indulgence, it's nice to be spoiled now and again so thank you once again and see you next year.

i would love to live in the clovelly hotel :)

from gemmy25wales
hi guys

trip advisor is my main port of call when i have decided on a place to stay to check out the reviews, although myself have never written about any of my experiences....until now :)

i feel utterly compelled to tell everyone about this truly fab place to stay in blackpool.

like the majority of you who plan a trip to blackpool it's soo hard trudging through all the searches of hotels, b&b's etc and hope to find a half decent place to stay. and when you have your choice of thousands of places to stay it kind of gets on your last nerve looking so you pray the place you have chosen will be fingers crossed ok!

i stumbled upon this little gem whilst looking on another website. had rung around a few places and they were either full or very much 'oh you have to book now, we only have one room left etc'

then i rang the clovelly hotel. i was greeted by a lovely lady on the phone (hillary) who answered all of my questions and was pleasant and friendly. this instantly made up my mind for me so within 10 mins i rang back and booked.

my boyfriend and i were heading up to alton towers for the day from wales then decided to stay overnight in blackpool on the saturday. got to the hotel around 6.30, found a place to park and worked our way to the clovelly.

first off the outside impressed me. very clean area with places to sit for a quick cigarette or to have a chat and a nose round outside :)

we were warmly greeted by hillary, who asked us how our day out in alton had been etc. we were shown around and asked how we liked our breakfast.

now im going to brag :)

i originally booked the standard room for £25.00 each for one night. however hillary had explained to me that her daughter and friends would be staying there for her hen night (which she previously explained to me prior to booking). so she so kindly booked us into the boutique room (to my utter delight for the same price as the standard room) which was on the 1st floor and was overlooking the street.

now i must stress that i knew in advance about the hen party and booked the standard room, but hillary very kindly placed us in the boutique room so we would not be disturbed. (note: we did not hear a peep out of the girls what so ever)

ok i know im rambling now but i want to tell you everything about this fab place and the hosts kim and hillary!

the boutique room was absolutely beautiful hence why my title is i would love to live there! the room over looked the street and each window had blinds so you could adjust them how you wished.

we had a flat screen tv which is fixed to the wall along with freeview. there was a hairdryer and ironing board at hand. plenty of storage space. lovely wide mirror that stretched along the dressing table.

the room had a double bed which was furnished in the most comfortable bed linen ever! plenty of pillows. next to the bed and the infront of the window was a great 2 seater table and chairs.

the bathroom was great with a shower that didn't trickle...you could actually wash yourself. (for anyone that has stayed in blackpool before you know what i mean about the water pressure in most places). you had shower gel and shampoo along with plenty of towels and toilet rolls. even had air freshener!

forgot to mention the mini bar in the room which was very cheaply priced! and the kettle with all of the coffee tea etc. bottled water and biscuits. if you needed any extra tea/coffee/milk/sugar they were all in reception area and you helped yourself.

room was absolutely spotless.

the location is amazing. its literally less than 1 minute to the sea front and about 10 minutes to either south or central pier.

the bar area looked fab. we didnt have chance to enjoy a drink in there as we were in bed by 9.30...to shattered from the theme park and driving. next time we will though :)

the breakfast was amazing. you helped yourself to cereals, toast, fruit and orange juice. then the lovely waitress came round with tea and coffee and our cooked breakfast which was picture perfect. you could have as much tea/coffee/cereals and toast as you liked.

when we checked out we have a conversation with hillary about blackpool and both herself and kim wished us well. we had a hug off hillary, said our goodbyes and smiled as our stayed had come to an end.

im sorry i have babbled on but i truly cannot rate the hotel and the guys that run it and work there high enough. i will 100% stay here again. you can easily find a cheaper place to stay but that extra couple of quid spent to stay in a beautiful place in the clovelly hotel in money well spent!
you will be glad you stayed!
Management Response from The_Clovelly
Thank you for your very kind comment it was much appreciated, it is the hotel policy not to take hen/stag groups having your own family at your own hotel can be the worst type of guest especially your own daughter's hen party!!....however I must admit it went down very well and they were exceptionally behaved.
So I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us hope you had a good journey home xx

more smiles

from kyleallan
Myself and my partner from Newcastle have been using the Clovelly ran by Hillary and Kim Amess for about 2 years now! we are a young gay couple and were worried about going away together....However the friendliness and service we have recieved has been second to none...from booking to arriving, breakfast to nights in the family run bar!

Not only is the customer service fantastic. but the hotel is immaculate, everything is cleaned daily and kept in outstanding order....this hotel deserves its English heritage status and hopefully will recieve its 4 star ratiing very soon! Plus anything your require you just have to ask for and it will be done either there and then or relatively soon!

The bedrooms are clean and inviting with flat screen televisions and freeview...amazing i know! you have plenty of storage and tea and coffe making facilities. & can i say they have the most comfortable beds in the world...one of the best nights sleep i have ever had!...and if thats not enough the bathrooms are even more fantastic, just the right size, 100% clean, well lit and with sizeable clean and good quality showers in each room!

Breakfasts are amazing...and should be the main selling point of any visit to the Clovelly...my compliments to the chef....To be frank they are huge and if thats not good enough you can request anything for breakfast!. Kim and Hillary were even lovely enough to say that we could have late breakfast and always ask how you like things once...and will remember it for the rest of your stay....just another part of the excellent customer service!

Fancy a drink in the licenced bar..no problem a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are at your disposal shall we say...and you will be impressed with the solid wood/oak bar finished to a quality unrivaled by any other in Blackpool.

All in all i have had nothing but excellent customer service and fantastic stays in Blackpool with Hillary and Kim Amess and the Clovelly Hotel. i emplore anybody to have a stay with them from families to young couples...i guarantee you will not be dissapointed!

Respectfully and hoping you have a good stay in Blackpool...(the Benidorm of the UK)

The Very Best From Blackpool

from Madden_88
Late last month, Myself and a friend was looking for a hotel in Blackpool, For our first vacation together. After searching the millions of hotels in blackpool, We stumbled upon the website for The Clovelly Hotel. And to say at very least it was by far the very best out of all of the search criteria. So we snapped up the oppertunity to book this hotel, Communication with the owner, Was quick, Kind and friendly very helpful too.

Upon arrival, We were given a friendly welcome, When booking in, And given a tour of the hotel, Something which is very rare these days. We were amazed by the hotel, It was clean, Beautifully decorated, We felt at home, A comfort that is hard to come by when travelling. It was obviours that the owners had taken the time to get to know us, By remembering names, And where we had travelled from.

Our room;

We booked a twin en-suite, Arrangements were made, Fresh towels, And perfectly made bed's, Essential supplies in the bathroom, And tea and coffee facilities in the room. The room, Was spacious, With ample room for more than two. It was clean and supurbly decorated, Modern and homely. The beds were so comfortable, We didn't want to leave! It's clear in the clovelly hotel, Thoughts have been made to guests requirements, Attention to detail has been of the up-most importance! The rooms would are suitable for everyone.

The hotel;

The reception area, Was always open for anything we needed. If we had any problems, Or needed anything, That was the place to go, The owners couldn't have been more helpful, They even checked out prices/tarriffs of local attractions we were planning to visit during our stay, And gave us some very sturdy advice too! A welcoming good morning, Was spoken to us, Each morning, It was clear that we were treated with care and priority.

The bar, Was comfortable, A huge range of drinks available, And nibbles too, There were board games on offer and two games machines, Fun for all the family. The hotel owners gave us 100% service with a smile. We felt welcomed and at home during our entire stay. The hotel was easily the best, We loved it so much, We chose to stay in!

Location;

The location from the attractions, Is ideal, The hotel is based directly inbetween the south and central shore, Either pier was in ten mins walking distance, And as for the beach, It's litrally up the road! 2 minutes walk. The tower and pleasure beach, Was ideally situated 10minutes away, And there was transport options at the top of the road (Bus, Tram)

Service;

The meals provided by the hotel, Went above and beyond our expectations, We stayed and booked breakfast, The hotel owner previously asked us our preferances and true to they're word, They delivery an exceptional breakfast the next morning, Exactly the way we liked it! There was a huge selection, Of breakfast options, Full cooked and also provided was cereal. And fruit, Juice and drinks. We surely looked forward to breakfast on the day of our last stay. The owners of the hotel truely went out of their way to provide us with the service we recieved, Ontop of all the Local advice, Helpful manner, The owners were also genuine friendly lovely people to have a conversation with, The atmosphere felt friendly, Instead of guest like, And thats something, Money truely can't buy.

I have recommended this hotel, To my family and friends, And surely in all confidence would recommend it to you, There isn't a bad word i could say about this hotel, It was truely amazing, I can 100% guarentee you will not be dissapointed. You'll leave feeling like you didn't pay enough!

I would like to say a big thank you to the owners for making our stay brilliant, And for welcoming us so pleasently. We cannot thank you enough for everything you did, During our stay.

4 Stars, Truely is an understatement!
Management Response from The_Clovelly
