Ok so first of all do not believe all of the reviews on this website. I have stayed in many 5* hotels in the past, and was very unsure when my friend told me she had booked this hotel. I even went to the extreme of packing my own towels and bed linen. This hotel is actually pretty good for £60 for a family room. The bedroom was immaculate and so was the bathroom a huge power shower and comfortable beds. 1 thing i would say is make sure you ask for a refurbished room, my friends stayed in an un refurbished room and it was like stepping back in time. I cannot comment on the food as i did not eat anything here. When i arrived back from a night out in Birmingham the receptionist was very helpful ordering me fast food and it was even delivered to my room!!! I would defiantly stay here again.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
I decided to book this hotel as it had a gym and swimming pool. When I arrived at reception I was told that these facilities had been closed down. When complaining to the manager about this, she offered £5 off the hotel bill. I couldn't believe it, false advertising on the hotel website and the manager is giving me 5 quid off, what a joke. I then went to the hotel room, the carpet was old and stained, the bathroom had dirty limescale in it, mattress was stained yellow with the duvet, disqusting. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Now that their website says they have spent 3 million improving this place I wondered if I might stay there again but when I read the reviews on this site it sounds like it hasn't changed at all since I wrote my letter of complaint in 2003.

Quality Hotels
Dear Sirs,
I felt compelled to write and complain about the appalling standard of service, food and accommodation at the so-called Quality Hotel in Hagley Road Birmingham where I have spent the last two nights (Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th November, Room 136) whilst on business in Birmingham, accompanied by my partner.
On the first night I tried to make a phone call using the payphones in the lobby but the message “call barred” was displayed on the screen. When I enquired at reception I was told there was a problem with the phones, although no “out of order” sign had been attached to the phones, and the nearest public payphone was a two minute walk up the road. In......

I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel. I had booked for 5 nights, but left after 2, it was that bad. My room was shabby and very tired with damaged furniture, the bed was awful, very old and uncomfortable. But worst of all was the food. The website says a la carte, I was given a menu with a choice of just 5 options for the main meal. Even if you are lucky enough to get a refurbed room, you'll still have to put up with the food. Staff were pretty ignorant as well. do not stay there!!!!!!
