No frills, but all you need

The Paragon is a faded hotel with character. It could do with some refurbishment, but is very good value for money. Double rooms come with either a bath or a shower, and I recommend taking the bath option as these rooms are much larger. There is no double glazing, so there is a fair bit of noise from the nearby road, but internal noise from other rooms was minimal. The bed was comfortable, and the room warm, although blankets and sheets are used rather than a quilt. Wardrobe space was limited. The breakfast was very good, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an industrial area, about an easy 15 minutes walk from the town centre. If you are after a low priced base to enjoy the delights of Birmingham - (the balti curry we had was superb !) then the Paragon fits the bill.
