Friendly but way too hot !

The title review says it all. The staff at Thistle were absolutely wonderful and made us feel very welcome. The problem for us was simply that the room we were given was incredibly hot. Now I personally love hot weather, but the room was even to muchfor me. The outside temp was a comfortable 15 degrees max during the day and yet in the room we were trying to sleep in a sweat drenching 25+ degree heat. All the radiators were shut off but heat was belting out of a long section of boxed in hot water pipes. We left the window open for several hours and tried circulating the air using a large fan but it was still uncomfortably hot. When we took the issue up with Reception early that evening we were told that it would be looked at, but it wasn't. We returned to our room later that night to find it just as swelteringly hot. We ended up trying to sleep in our own sweat with a noisey old fan on full blast just to try and circulate what little air there was. It spoiled the evening for us and forced us to run sweating and dehydrated from the hotel as soon as we woke. Literally, not even enough energy to make a morning cuppa!
