Stayed here on Saturday 14-07-07, with my partner and 7yr old son. After trawling the net for a suitable hotel in the city centre, we came across the Ibis in Ladywalk way, two minutes walk from the railway station and offering a family room and a buffet breakfast. The staff were very helpful and presentable. The family room was on the fourth floor and was situated over looking a very lively area surrounded by bars and restaurants, which turn into nightclubs later on. The family room on the fourth floor had both safety catches disconnected so both windows could be fully opened. As for the buffet breakfast advertised. Well this is a continental breakfast much to our disappointment, after a good night at a wedding reception near by we were looking forward to our breakfast..What a let down, seating arrangements were all two seated tables...were do the family sit?.As for the nights sleep we didnt get much, the music below are family room went on until 2.30/3.00am so in the morning we were not at our best. As a family, I probably would not recommend this hotel but for the clubber/party animal and the person wanting a late night, this is the place. I wont visit this particular hotel again but Birmingham is a great place for your night out.
