Too expensive, horrible rooms and service

Firtly the hotel was way too expensive. The room was alright, but there was no heating in the room. There was also no lock on the toilet door and it kept opening on its own. We complained thrice, but nothing was done about it.

We decided last minute about NY2009 looking for place to stay we found rooms available at the Sunningdale, what do you expect if you find place to stay at last minute? The place DOES NOT have an atmosphere for parties! Really sad party with a singer singing on a play back CD! But Bamburgh was lovely place to stay marvellous walks and fortunately sunshine on the 01st January 2009!!!!

Just spent 6 fantastic days at the Sunningdale.. Great Food...actually fantastic food...great lounge areas and very very clean......A real pleasure to stay.....Fantastic staff and great service. We had a great laugh with the waiter ...who we found out later was the owner. our party of 12 will all go back soon...thanks very much..

What a fantastic place! It really was great and the service was beyond expectations. The place had a really nice family atmosphere and we really enjoyed staying there. The food was tops!Would we go again? Try and stop us!

Recently stayed for 8 days, ground floor room was superb access/comfort for my elderly mother and staffie called 'Bertie'. Staff very friendly, could not fault the place.

This hotel came to our aid when our camp site flooded -the room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and self service - The owner was extremely helpful and waited until 11pm to book us in -the camp site we where staying on a mile away flooded 2 hours earlier.

All staff are extremely friendly and helpful.Paul,Gary and Wilma looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. Clare attended to every detail prior to our visit. We will return with groups as well as with my family and friends for a relaxing break. Ideally situated to explore this part of the N.E.

Really nice hotel, owners were very welcoming even though they were still in the middle of decorating when we were staying.
