Great food, Real Ales, Comfortable room, friendly atmosphere, and the badgers appeared on cue. Love the place and will definitely be visiting it again

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly. Steve mal and nesie to name just three. The room was really lovely and comfortable and very clean. The meals were well cooked with more than enough on the plate. We will definitely be coming back soon.

AN EASY INTORDUCTION TO FELL WALKING The Glen Rothay is ideally situated to start and finish a walk up and around Louhrigg Fell. This walk is in Wainwright's Central Fells handbook, and is an easy climb with spectacular views at the start of the walk (over Rydal water and over to Grasmere) and from the summit (of the Fairfield Horseshoe, Windermere, Elterwater etc).
