friendly, homely hotel

Cosy and comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would book again. Breakfast was very good. But evening meals were let down slightly.

Great Place for Weekend break!

This is a lovely hotel. As we walked in we both felt comfortable due to the snug homely feel to the reception area. All staff were very professional and helpful and the hotel had a personal feel to it aswell. The room was warm and clean. We stayed in one of their rooms with a Jacuzzi and four poster bed. The bed isn't one of those large dark oak ones your expect at the Marriott but nice enough. Bed was comfortable. Jacuzzi worked well appart from some old soap scum that was blown from the pipe on first use. The floorboards creak in the hotel but in my opinion this adds to the oldy world feel of Ambleside. The hotel is 2 mins wolk from all popular locations, and a pub 30 secs walk away has free wi-fi access (where i am writing this). We paid 85 quid for one of their top rooms per night (half that per person) and were very happy. Lovely hotel, lovely village.
