I've been at Yunus hotel last year. It was one of the best holiday I had. Friendly stuff family atmosphere.

Top Local Tips for Mersin

Eating out in Marmaris We looked for Turkish meals but most of the menus in Marmaris feature peppered steak, steak, and variations on standard English fayre, kebabs were on offer but the majority of food was disappointingly unadventurous, burgers, chips, chicken etc. The number of places offering pizza, Chinese, Mexican, and Indian meals was huge! One restaurant we found was outstanding, the Heaven O'seven which is attached to the Negris, about central on the beach promenade near the pier where the Orca docks about 2 minutes walk south of the Yunus. The Shrimp casserole was gorgeous, as was the Calamari. The Sea Bass with shrimp and chanterelles was wonderful. We thought this was the best place that we ate in for good food and value. we went twice and were impressed with food and staff... highly recommended! The food in the Yunus (we were b&b so ate off the menu not the half board menu) was really quite good. The Anatalya kebab(?) we had was superb. It was more of a casserole but it was very tasty and great value. Our second choice for eating out. The Sen restaurant a little further south from the heaven O'Seven back from the promenade and almost opposite the taj Mahal restaurant, we had the adana kebeb which was delicious. It was a great price as well, a nice little place with loads of choice from English to Mexican and Turkish, well worth a visit, recommended. The Viya was on Bar street up in the harbour area which share a superb location sitting alongside the moored boats and all look very classy, it was amongst many other equally fine eateries that we didn't visit. It has to be said that the food was glorious and the service was superb, we had Sea bream. My only quibble was that we initially selected sea bream from the menu at 12 YTL and were then invited to the fish chiler at the front of the restaurant to select our fish. We did after listening to the advice about whch fish were best. When we got the bill the fish came in at 40YTL each and the price differential wasn't explained to us as we were choosing. Be that as it may we had a good meal (huge fish done superbly) and enjoyed the place... and the owner was great filleting the fish for us. Finally we went to Natalies - twice. The first time was our first night there and we were tired and just couldn't be hacked looking very far or for anything very exotic. The steak was nice, the mushrooms and onions were a waste of time. It was tasty and filling and what we were after at the time. Our second visit was after our day trip to Turtle beach and again we couldn't be hacked wandering, it was a mistake, the steak I had was nice but everything else was either chewy or went into the napkin. We wish we had tried Treena's next door.

The Port is very expensive We went out nearly every night in Marmaris and found it very expensive down by the port. Nearer where the main hotel resorts are was much cheaper - by almost half! And there was plenty of places tochoose from.
